Daycare Covered Up Son’s
Abuse As ‘Mosquito Bite’
(Meredith) — Milwaukee police are investigating a pos- sible child abuse case after an eight-month-old boy was badly injured at a daycare.
Rahzeena Hamilton
told WITI she received a con- cerning call from Harvest Learning Center Daycare on Friday morning shortly after dropping off her eight-month old son, Judale.
Hamilton said the day- care employee on the phone asked her to come pick up Judale because he “got bit by a mosquito” and employ- ees thought “he had an aller- gic reaction.”
Hamilton told WITI when she picked up her son, she saw that his head was swollen, he had some miss- ing hair and his ear was bruised. She also noticed Ju- dale had bite marks on his arm and scratches on his chest.
Hamilton took Judale to the hospital where doctors

performed tests and scans. Hamilton said the doctors told her Judale’s injuries were not caused by a mos- quito bite and that no bug bite was found anywhere on his body.
Milwaukee police are now investigating the situation as a potential child abuse case. WITI reporters contacted the daycare’s owner, who said she would not comment until the police investigation is over.
Hamilton said she just wants to know what hap- pened to her baby boy.
Records show Harvest Learning Center Daycare has accrued 16 health and safety violations in the last three years, such as tripping haz- ards and uncomfortable room temperatures. The day- care also has a one-star rat- ing on Google Reviews.
The daycare is located about 15 minutes northwest of downtown Milwaukee.
Father And Daughter ‘Rock The Crown’ At Essence Music Festival
NEW ORLEANS, LA – For the 3rd consecutive year, 9-year old Morgan E. Tay- lor and G. Todd Taylor, her father, participated in the Author Pavilion at the 2018 ESSENCE Music Festi- val. Their repeat participa- tion was based on the popularity of offering books that reflect positive images of African American children.
Morgan’s one of a kind non-fiction picture book Daddy’s Little Princess introduces real Princesses and Queens of color from all around the world.
“Every little girl should believe she’s a Princess,” said Morgan. “Princesses come in all shades.”
Daddy’s Little Princess derived from a conversation Morgan had with her dad and co-author G. Todd Taylor about the lack of diversity seen in chil- dren’s books about royalty.
“My dad always called me his little Princess,” Morgan

said. “But I didn’t believe I could be a real one because I didn’t see any that looked like me.”
“It gave me so much joy to see the new Duchess of Sus- sex, Meghan Markle,” she added. “So it’s extra special when I have an opportunity to introduce so many others.”
Morgan’s motto is “Rock Your Crown” and she’s been rocking hers and en-
couraging others since
Daddy’s Little Princess
was published.

G. Todd Taylor is a for-
mer educator and has au- thored several Children’s books. He autographed two of his other books Dad, Who Will I Be? and I Don’t See Color at the Au- thor Pavilion as well.
