Police Investigate Fatal Shooting Of 17-Year-Old
Arrest Made In Fatal Hit And Run Accident
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigat- ing a fatal shooting.
The shooting took place Wednesday night in the 500 block of 9th Street, in Wimauma.
According to police, nu- merous 9-1-1 calls were re- ceived shortly before 9 p.m. Deputies arrived within 10 minutes. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered a male inside the residence.
They called EMS, but the 17- year-old died of his injuries.
The victim has not been identified. No additional in- formation was available at press time.

Police later interviewed sev- eral people last week. They located the vehicle and is- sued a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody on Sunday by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Police in Memphis, Ten- nessee, have arrested a man wanted in connection with a deadly hit and run accident. The accident took place ear- lier this month at the inter- section of 5th Avenue, S., and 37th Street, S., in St. Peters- burg.

Bank Robbery Suspect Taken Into Custody
Teenager Recovering From
A St. Petersburg man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery. The rob- bery took place on Tuesday.
According to the St. Pe- tersburg Police Department, a man entered the BB&T Bank, 100 34th Street, North around 12:30 p.m., Tuesday.
He received an undis- closed amount of money and fled the scene. Police identi- fied the suspect as Derrick Newsome. He was charged with one count of robbery. However, police said he may be connected to several other

The FBI Tampa Pinellas Resident Agency assisted in the investigation.

Tampa police are investi- gating a shooting that left a 17-year-old girl suffering from gunshot wounds. The shooting took place around 10:30 p.m., Wednesday.
Officers were dispatched to the Columbus Court Apart- ments in reference to the shooting. However, while the units were responding, they were notified that the victim was being driven to the hos- pital.
Officers arrived at St. Joseph’s Hospital and learned that the victim was listed in stable condition. She was suffering a single gun- shot wound.
Detectives are continuing their investigation. However, no additional information has been released.
