SSGT. CARLOS JOVAR (‘JOYEE’) CLARKE
Homegoing Celebration for SSgt Carlos Jovar “Jovee” Clarke, U. S. A. F. Veteran, will be held on Saturday February 22, 2020, 11 a. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Rev. W. S. Sims, officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the funeral home. In- terment will be held on Monday, Feb- ruary 24, 2020, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
SSgt. Carlos Jovar Clarke, affec- tionately called, “Jovee,” was born on February 21, 1983 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Carlos was a Veteran of the United States Air Force for 15 years where he proudly served in Korea as well as Operation Iraqi Freedom. For all of his life, he enjoyed and excelled in mechanics, woodwork and build- ing or re-building anything he could get his hands on. Carlos also enjoyed cooking, joking, talking about politics and spending time with family and friends. Carlos loved God and is now in the Heavenly place he believed in.
SSgt. Carlos Jovar “Jovee” Clarke, age 36, departed this earth and gained his wings on February 8th, 2020 at his home in Wichita, Kansas.
SSgt. Clarke was predeceased by his parents, Carl Clarke and Phyllis A. Webb, whom he loved dearly.
Carlos is survived by the love of his life, Karlene Robinson Clarke; 2 brothers, Jamie Clarke and Dante Hicks; 3 sisters, Shakira Webb, Tamara Greelish (David Greelish) and Lena Johnson (Sylvester John- son, III). He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, his beloved dog, Zaylee and other relatives and amazing friends.
His remains will repose on Fri- day, February 21, 2020, from 5 – 8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
Friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at approximately 10:45 a. m. Saturday for the service.

MOTHER LILLIAN EPPS
A Celebration of Life service for Mother Lillian Epps, who passed on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 1 p. m. at St. John Progres- sive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Chipco Street, Tampa, Florida, Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Pas- tor, Eulogist, with Dr. Victor W. Ball, officiating, Pastor of Oak Hill M. B. Church. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
Lillian P. Epps, a loving and de- voted wife to husband Rev. Dr. C. P. Epps and a mother of many, gra- ciously passed away into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 86.
She was born on October 8, 1933 in Palmetto, Florida to Ellix Scurry and Vella Williams before making Tampa her home in the late 1960s. Her heart for serving and encourag- ing others was reflected in every life that she touched. She was a leader among women by example with hu- mility and wisdom as she served alongside her husband in church ministry during her tenure as First Lady at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church on numerous committees and boards.
She was a woman of faith, prayer and service towards others. When God called, she answered, and what He asked of her, she gave. Truly a vessel of honor for good works, her fragrance of Christ will live on through the lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by: son, William Johnson, Jr.

Mr. Norsalus Nathaniel Clarence Jackson, AKA Sie, was born on November 16, 1995, in Tampa, Florida, to Mrs. Catina Mc- Cloud-Smith and Norsalus R. Jack- son.
Norsalus (Sie) worked as a Maritime Seaman. He ensured the safe and responsible handling of goods from ship to shore and as- sisted with the safe passage of the vessel. “Sie” was a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area, where he at- tended Hillsborough County public schools and was a graduate of Wharton High School, Class of 2015.

MR. LARRY DEAN THOMAS
A viewing for Mr. Larry Dean Thomas, who passed away on Febru- ary 10, 2020, will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020, at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida from 5 – 8 p. m.
Mr. Larry Dean Thomas was born on February 11, 1955 and was raised in Morganton, North Car- olina, and was raised by maternal grandparents, Bill and Irma Thomas. He attended Glen Alpine High School.
Mr. Thomas was married to Loretta L. Henry for 38 years. Mr. Larry Dean Thomas served in the United States Army for 3 years from 1973-1976.
Mr. Larry Thomas was a God- fearing individual who had a desire to see the world. He loved his home in North Carolina, but he always wanted to experience more. He was a hardworking man who cherished his family, immediate and extended. A man who was kind just as much as he was strong, he respected everyone he was around and was admirable and cared about everyone around him. Mr. Thomas was dedicated to providing for his family by any means. He also loved to entertain and be hospitable.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by: his biological mother, Lu- cille Lawrence.
He is survived by: his wife, Loretta Louise Thomas; daughter, Lameka Belinda Thomas; son, Lac- haz Robert Stanley Thomas; grand- children, Jaden Thomas, Landen Thomas, Mya Shedrick; brothers and sisters, Chris Lawrence, Angela Lawrence, Corey Lawrence, Luvator Nelson and husband, Carlton, John Henry, Carolyn Philon and husband, Michale Barbara Everette and other relatives and friends.

MS. JOETHEL UPSHAW
Homegoing Services for Ms. Joethel Upshaw will be held Satur- day, February 22, 2020, at 2 p. m. at Grace Mary M. B. Church, 3901 N. 37th Street, Tampa, Florida, Elder James R. Reed, Jr., Pastor, and Rev. Joseph Bunts, officiating.
Mrs. Jo Ethel (Hearns) Upshaw was born December 10, 1947 in Comer, Alabama. She resided in Barbour County for many years prior to moving to the State of Florida making Tampa her home.
Education was very important to her and after graduating high school, nothing would stop her de- sire to further her education. Mrs. Upshaw went on to study Law/Crim- inal Justice at Hillsborough Com- munity College, while working as a Teachers’ Aide at Meacham, and later became a substitute in the Hillsborough County Public School System. She was formerly married to Mr. Fred Hearns.
Mrs. Jo Ethel, as she was affec- tionately known, loved the Lord with all her heart and sought Him daily. Her hometown church in Ala- bama, with siblings and family was Friendship Baptist Church. After re- siding in Tampa, she was affiliated in Worship with Pentecostal, Church of God in Christ and settled her membership with Bethel Baptist Church, Tampa. She enjoyed singing, serving, teaching, fellow- ship and trusting God and His will for her life. She enjoyed cooking and dedicated her most precious time to sharing the Word of God with so many people.
Spending early mornings - ris- ing to pray, read and study the Bible. Jo Ethel Hearns Upshaw passed away on February 6, 2020.
Ms. Joethel Hearns Upshaw was preceded in death by: her parents, Golious and Ida Wiley Upshaw; brothers, GL, and Theotis Upshaw; sisters, Lilly and Eula Upshaw and Willie Upshaw-Edwards.
She leaves to cherish fond mem- ories with: daughter, Mazurov (Or- lantha) Johnson; 3 grandchildren,
Suprophetkias Myrie, Gerfson (Elijah) Milien and Tawhare’ Myrie; sisters, Annie Salary of Alabama, Dorothy Kinsey and husband, Charles of Tampa; brothers, Robert Upshaw and wife Rosa, Rev.
