Week 7-8 Time Frame
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter erased all doubt surrounding his quarterback situation Monday by naming Jameis Winston the starter for the Bucs' Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
"It's not necessarily something I wanted to hear, just in terms of getting that taste back, that feeling of being out there and having fun, enjoying myself, kind of creating some momentum at the beginning of the season with the guys," Fitzpatrick said Monday. "But Jameis is back and he's the guy. He's the face of the franchise. He's gonna do a great job. But it's not like it's a happy day for me. I enjoy being out there."
JAMEIS WINSTON He'll replace Ryan Fitz-
patrick, who led the Bucs to wins over the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Ea- gles. Fitzpatrick led the NFL with 1,230 passing yards and became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 400 yards in three consecutive weeks.
O. J. HOWARD
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end O. J. Howard sprained his MCL and is ex- pected to miss two to four weeks.
Howard injured his left knee late in the first half of Sunday's 48-10 loss to the Bears.
Howard is third on the team with 222 receiving yards through four games this sea- son. His 11 receptions rank fifth on the team. He also has one touchdown reception.
He was drafted 19th over- all in 2017 and had 26 recep- tions for 432 yards and six touchdowns in his rookie sea- son.
Salty Broncos Fans Give Kareem Hunt The Finger After He Scored Winning TD
A fan flipped off Kareem Hunt, right.
On Monday night football a couple of salty Denver Broncos fans being mad their team blew a 10-point lead in the 4th quarter giving Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt the finger.
Their season tickets should be revoked.
Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Le'Veon Bell told reporters he is playing football in 2018 and does not expect to be traded.
In fact, he still has hope the team will re-sign him to a long-term contract once his franchise tag is up. Bell is staying away from the team to preserve his body, but a source said Bell is expected to report during the Week 7- 8 time frame. The Steelers are onabyeinWeek7.
Bell, who is still sitting out while refusing to sign his franchise tender, said he's in prime physical condition and could play football "tomor- row" if he needed. He added he'll be "fully committed" to playing his best for Pittsburgh upon his return. Bell plans to be ready for the Week 8 matchup with the Cleveland Brownson Oct. 28 in Pitts- burgh and will decide how

much practice time he needs accordingly, a source said.
"It sucks having to sit out football," Bell said on Mon- day. "I want to play. I want to win games and the playoffs.
"But I've gotta take this stand. Knowing my worth and knowing I can tear a liga- ment or get surgery at any time, I knew I couldn't play 16 games with 400 or more touches."
Bell loses about $5.1 mil- lion for sitting out.
  The Night Patrick
Mahomes Became An
Paul Allen Says
 Elite NFL Quarterback
Non-Hodgkin
Pat Mahomes has offi- cially arrived. That’s obvious now.
Last season he played well in Denver for a Week 17 matchup against a Broncos team that wasn’t trying all. Then, Chiefs traded Alex Smith to Washington in early February, clearing the way for Mahomes to be the full-time quarterback. It was obvious he had the arm and the skills to make him an above-average starter, but questions still lingered about his ability to make the transi- tion from his college air raid offense to the Andy Reid’s West Coast offense.
Reports out of St. Joseph, Missouri, during training camp focused on multiple in- terceptions each day, enough to worry some folks. While some of these reports are true, the interceptions were nothing to worry about. Ma- homes was being aggressive and Reid was throwing so much at him that it led to mix ups with his teammates on the receiving end.
In the preseason, Ma- homes looked right on schedule and ready for his 2018 debut in Los Angeles against the Chargers, but questions still lingered about

his readiness for this offense and his ability to perform in pressure situations.
All Mahomes did in the first three weeks of the sea- son was throw for 13 touch- downs, no interceptions, complete 67 percent of his passes for 896 yards. Ma- homes looks like a seasoned veteran before the snap; he’s never caught off guard by a defense.
He led the No. 1 scoring offense to wins against the Chargers and Steelers on the road, and the49ers at home. But, despite his roaring start, the Chiefs were playing from ahead and their offense had almost no issues. It looked too easy. Was that something the Chiefs could sustain throughout the season?
Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen says he's recently learned that the non-Hodgkin lymphoma he was treated for in 2009 has returned.
The 65-year-old Allen shared the news Monday, writing that his team of doc- tors has started treatment and that he plans on fighting the disease aggressively.
"A lot has happened in medicine since I overcame this disease in 2009," Allen wrote. "My doctors are opti- mistic that I will see good re- sults from the latest therapies, as am I. I will continue to stay involved with Vulcan, the Allen Institutes, the Seahawks and Trail Blazers, as I have in the past. I have confidence in the leadership teams to man-

age their ongoing operations during my treatment. I am very grateful for the support I've received from my family and friends. And I've appreci- ated the support of everyone on the teams and in the broader community in the past, and count on that sup- port now as I fight this chal- lenge. Go Seahawks! Go Blazers!"
