The outspoken sports jour- nalist who broke with sports network ESPN after a series of incidents in which she bumped heads with network brass about issues of racism, will take up residence as a sports writer for The Atlantic, cover- ing “the intersection of sports, race, politics, gender, and cul- ture,” the magazine’s editor-in- chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, announced Monday.
After leaving ESPN, Hill landed an exciting opportunity as the voice of LeBron James’ Shut Up and Dribble Showtime documentary.

On Side Of Road $1,000
Kanye West is expected to debut his first-ever Yeezy basketball sneaker on the feet of Adidas athletes during the upcoming NBA season.
But the league office would ban the current version of the sneaker on court because of its gleaming, reflective-mate- rial heel, according to indus- try sources.
While the monochromatic sneakers won't violate the league's footwear color re- strictions, the issue is the re- flective "3M" heel panel, which the NBA would find po- tentially distracting for both in-arena spectators and televi- sion viewers.
Carmelo Anthony faced a similar issue with the metal- lic chrome heel of his Jordan M10 signature sneakers while playing for the New York Knicks. He later wore an up- dated version with a matte

paint finish.
The NBA wouldn't ap-
prove shoes with the reflective detail, but likely would ap- prove alternate versions of the shoe.
Players are no longer re- quired to wear shoes match- ing their team's uniform colors, but the league still has an approval process for new silhouettes from brands in ad- vance of the season.
Boxing icon Floyd May- weather has been branded by some as “irresponsible” for giving a homeless man in a wheelchair $1,000 as part of a charity campaign.
The retired boxer posted a video on his Instagram ac- count showing him getting out of a car to hand the cash to the man, who was slumped in a wheelchair by the side of the road.
Speaking into the camera, Mayweather says he has just emerged from one of his ‘Girl Collection’ gentlemen’s clubs and is“going to go into my bag and give back” as part of the ‘#s4fe’ charity cam- paign in the US.
“I want every celebrity to give back. It's the give back challenge,” the 41-year-old former fighter adds.
He then approaches the

man, who at first appears un- responsive before rousing himself as Mayweather counts out $1,000 from a wad of cash.
“God bless you,” the man mumbles before receiving the money and then attempt- ing to reach out and hug Mayweather, who instead gives him a fist bump.
