Prominent Attorney Hosts ‘Super Bowl’ Party For 250 Youngsters
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
On Super Bowl Super, prominent Tampa Attorney Barry Cohen hosted a party for 250 middle and high school students. The party was held at the Wilbert Davis Boys & Girls Club of Tampa. George Streets, of Streets & Streets Photography & Video- graphy, was on hand to cap- ture the event.
“I wanted to reach out to get the youngsters involved with the Boys & Girls Club. They had a great party and plenty to eat. But, because there was school the next day, they had to leave at half-time,” Attorney Cohen said.
While talking with the stu- dents, Attorney Cohen em- phasized the fact that, “You can do anything you want to achieve. You may have to over- come obstacles, but you can do anything.
“You should never give up, even when you’re down, you can get back up.” And Attor- ney Cohen used the scoring in the game as an example. The kids were gone by the time the game ended and the New England Patriots came from behind to win the Super Bowl.
He further discovered that the youngsters were con- cerned about the “Code of Si- lence” or “No Snitch” policy prevalent among members of the community. And, he in-
formed them that it is not only about teenagers, but some adults live by the same code. He emphasized that if adults
expect teenagers to be open, then they must be open as well, including police officers who they encounter.
