State Representative Sean Shaw To Host Toilet Paper Drive
Principal Denies Students Sent Home Because Of Death Threats
Jesse Salters, Principal of Blake High School has de- nied that any students were sent home because of death threats. The rumor circulating is that the students living in Tampa Park Apartments were receiving threats due to the shooting death of Tee’on Milledge.
Milledge lived in West Tampa, but was fatally injured near Tampa Park Apartments.
Principal Salters stated, “We didn’t send anyone home due to death threats. We

weren’t even aware of any threats being made. They were never brought to our attention.
“We did have Grief Coun- selors on Campus for the stu- dents and we did have extra security. But we haven’t sent anyone home. That is ab- solutely not true.”
Principal Salters further said some parents were con- tacted to pick up the students who took the news hard be- cause they felt the parents could better help them deal with the death.
Popular Tampa Promoter Dies Of Cancer
A popular Tampa promoter and producer passed on February 2nd. Curtis Donnell Under- wood was 57-years-old.
A Tampa native, Mr. Underwood attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. He at- tended Robinson High School before attending trade school in South Carolina and Miami.
After school, he was employed with the City of Tampa. Mr. Underwood discovered he had a talent for music and launched his career as a pro- moter.
He is credited with producing the first live concert at Adventure Island at night. He then took the concert live in the Park Apollo (Riverfront Park). He also held concerts at various clubs throughout the city. And, he was responsible for bringing popular rappers to Tampa to conduct concerts.
Mr. Underwood is also credited with organ- izing the largest class reunions at the Tampa Con-
vention Center. The owner of Club 69 in Valdosta, Georgia, Mr. Underwood was very charitable and believed in giv- ing back to his community.
His daughter said Mr. Underwood began experi- encing discomfort in July. However, it was not until No- vember that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

vived by his fiancé, several
children, grandchildren, and great granddaugh- ter, his father, siblings, and other family mem- bers.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, at 11 a.m., at Heaven Destiny Assembly of God. Aikens Funeral Home is in charge of handling arrangements for Mr. Underwood.
KENDALL ROBINSON ...Founder, Love Rolls, Inc.
State Representative Sean Shaw (District 61, De- mocrat) will host a toilet paper drive in partnership with Love Rolls, Inc., Feed- ing Tampa Bay, The Trinity Café and the Tampa Hills- borough Homeless Initia- tive. The event will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Trinity Café, 2801 N. Nebraska Ave., 8 a. m. – 11 a. m.
Rep. Shaw’s office has been collecting toilet paper at his District Office, 508 W. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Tampa (33603), Suite C, and at the Hillsborough County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., 1st Floor, Tampa (33602). Donations of toilet paper may be dropped off at either office until 5 p. m. Friday, Febru- ary 17th.
Toilet paper will be dis- tributed to organizations that partake in homeless outreach, such as the Alpha House, Homeless Helping Homeless and many others.
“Love Rolls is the type of event that communities need – a problem has been pre- sented and they have a solu- tion,” said Rep. Shaw. “I fully support initiatives that help to uplift, strengthen, and bring the community closer together. I am proud to have the opportunity to work with Kendall and Love Rolls, Inc. and I believe that her work for those in need is truly inspirational.”
Rep. Shaw stated that at 9:45 a. m. Saturday, a special presentation will be done recognizing Kendall Robinson for her service through Love Rolls, Inc.

Love Rolls, Inc. is a non- profit organization founded by Kendall Robinson based out of Atlanta, GA. The organization provides and facilitates donations of toilet paper for the homeless. Currently a junior in high school, Kendall says she was inspired to create the or- ganization when she had a conversation with a home- less man while attending a youth summit. The man shared that he had to ration one roll of toilet paper for the entire month. Love Rolls, Inc. has distributed over 40,000 rolls of toilet paper to people in need.
Robinson has been re- cognized for her service to citizens by former Presi- dent Barack Obama, Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia and the Municipal Council of the City of Jersey City.
