Detectives with the Pinel- las County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man and charged him with murder. The victim was an employee of an Oldsmar Restaurant.
According to police, about 1:07 a.m., Wednesday, deputies responded to Hen- nessy’s Bar & Grill, 127 Forest Lakes Blvd., in reference to an armed man.
When deputies arrived, they discovered 33-year-old David Patrick Brown, of Oldsmar, suffering from sev- eral gunshot wounds. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been an em- ployee of the restaurant for several years.
According to police, Brian P. Mytych, 43, of Tarpon Springs, was located still inside the business. He allegedly admitted to deputies that he shot Brown. The .45 caliber handgun used in the murder was located inside the busi- ness.
This was not the first time police were called to the busi- ness. On February 6, Brown and Mytych became engaged in a physical confrontation. When police arrived, they is- sued Mytych a trespassing warning.
Identity Of Man
Who Placed
A Tampa man has been charged with voyeurism for the second time. The charge stems from an incident that took place last year.
James M. McEwen, 28, of Riverview, surrendered to police on Monday. He was charged with a second count of voyeurism. The incident took place on December 27, 2016.
In this case, a 19-year-old woman was using the women’s restroom at Michael’s Craft Store, 2564 Brandon Blvd. While she was in the bathroom, a man used his cell phone to take photo- graphs of her. She reported the incident to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation took place and police issued a war- rant for McEwen.
The first charge came about when an undercover detective arrested McEwen on January 4th.
In that incident, police said shortly after 2 p.m., the undercover female detective went into the restroom at Publix Store, 3863 S. High- way 301.

Police said Mytych was intoxicated at the time he was told to leave the business. He was given a trespass warning, but refused to leave. Police arrested him and charged him with disorderly intoxica- tion.
Witnesses told police that Mytych came back to the business during the early morning hours of Wednesday and was told to leave the business. Mytych left, but returned to the restaurant, re-entered, and shot Brown several times. After the shoot- ing Mytych reportedly told the patrons to leave, and then he called 9-1-1 and reported the shooting.
Mytych was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree murder. He was transported to the Pinel- las County Jail.
JAMES McEWEN
The detective entered the restroom and went into a stall and while in there, she no- ticed the shadow of a person holding a phone, that ap- peared to be video recording her from within the next stall.
The detective used her own surveillance equipment and confirmed that McEwen was allegedly video recording her attempt to use the rest- room. She arrested him with- out incident.
He was charged with video voyeurism and transported to the Hillsborough County Jail. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond. He was re- leased on the second charge after posting a $5,000 bond.
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is currently attempting to identify a man who placed a skimmer on an ATM ma- chine at a federal credit union.
The skimmer was placed on the machine on February 11th, around 2 p.m.
According to police, cam- eras revealed that a white man in his late 20s to mid 30s placed the device on the ma- chine. The man has brown hair.
Within minutes of the skimmer being placed on the ATM at the GTE Financial Credit Union, 711 S. Dale Mabry Highway, a customer found the device and reported it to police.
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
