Lil Wayne Gifts Labelmate Drake With Custom OVO ‘6’ Chain
RCA Records Reportedly Presses Pause On Any New Music From R. Kelly
R. Kelly is likely experi- encing one of the roughest months of his life in the wake of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docu-series — and it’s not over. According to TMZ, RCA Records (a sub- sidiary of Sony Music) has pushed pause on any new music from the singer.
Although Kelly is still ob- ligated to contractually re- lease two more albums under the imprint, sources say they will not put any re- sources into his current cat- alog or release any of his new music until the most re- cent open investigation against him in the state of Georgia is resolved.
This would prevent Kelly from taking immediate ad- vantage of the increase in digital streams he experi- enced following the Surviv-
R. KELLY
ing R. Kelly premiere. Many fans appeared to have no in- terest in canceling his music. Conversely, a large portion of those plays were presumably listeners revisiting his cata- log with a fresh perspective.
DRAKE AND LIL WAYNE 6 CHAIN
The Young Money team is one of the most iconic groups to form in the hip-hop world in their time. The col- lective included Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga, and others. As a whole, they were nearly un- stoppable and as solo artists, they've all reached impecca- ble heights. When it comes to Weezy and Minaj, the two have been at the top of their
games for years. Drake is now the most popular artist in the world. And Tyga? Tyga experienced a major comeback in 2018. Tunechi is obviously loyal to his team, which he proved again by gifting the 6 God with a brand new custom-made chain.
Wayne went to Eliantte, jeweler to the stars, to com- mission a brand new piece
for his buddy Drake. The charm is quite simple actu- ally, featuring an iced-out "6" to represent the artist's hometown.
There have been mixed re- actions in the jeweler's Insta- gram comments with some believing the piece looks rushed. Others think he did a great job. Despite the end re- sult, it's the thought that counts, right?
