‘Queen Sugar’ Star Films Short Film On Mental Health And Young People After Tragedy
“Queen Sugar” star Kofi Siriboe has completed a per- sonal project that explores the topic of mental health through the eyes of black mil- lennials.
On June 4, the actor re- leased his four-and-a-half minute documentary short, titled “What the F*ck is Men- tal Health?”
It features seven young black people in the Bronx, who speak candidly about their own struggles with both mental health and the stigma that comes with it.
“Making ‘WTF Is Mental Health?’ has been a part of a healing process for me, one I’m still exploring,” Siriboe told The Huffington Post.
“It’s the companion piece to ‘Jump,’ a short film I made after a mentor and big brother figure died by suicide, just before I got the call that I’d been cast in ‘Queen Sugar.’
Kofi Siriboe completed a personal project about mental health and young people after his mentor committed suicide.
I started working on this beautiful, emotional show and felt how liberating it was to channel my fears into art. As I began to mold ‘Jump,’ I realized the true conversation I was craving centered on young black people who are figuring out this mental health thing, too.”

Michael B. Jordan Only Wants To Audition For Roles Written For ‘White Men’
Michael B. Jordan is trying to turn Hollywood up- side down. Although black actors have a tendency to be typecast into playing the funny best friend or sidekick, Jordan is trying to change the stigma by going for un- conventional roles.
In a new cover story with Variety, the Black Pan- ther actor explained why he only wants to audition for movie roles written for white men.
As you may know, Michael B. Jordan came into the film industry playing a series of racially-charged

films and TV shows.
While those roles helped
shape the early years of his career, he reportedly told his agent that he no longer wanted to audition for roles solely written for African- Americans.
“Me playing that role is going to make it what it is. I don’t want any pre-bias on the character.” That ulti- mately led Jordan to land roles such as his character in ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Creed’.
Jordan played Erik Kill- monger in the recent Mar- vel success, Black Panther in Feb. 2018, but has a number of other roles lined up, in- cluding Creed II.

Over on the singles chart, Drake’s “Nice for What” rules the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a sixth total week, which ties Michael Jackson for the second-most career weeks logged at No. 1 among solo males (37 each) in the chart’s 59-year history, with the pair
