Man Sentenced On Firearm Charge
Man Injured
Armed Gunman Robs Park Visitor
A federal judge has sen- tenced a 29-year-old man to prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking offense. He pleaded guilty on May 31, 2017.
Judge Charlene Ed- wards Honeywell sen- tenced Raymond Adams to 8 years and 5 months in fed- eral prison.
Court documents stated that Adams and others planned to break into a St. Pe- tersburg home to steal mari- juana and later distribute it.
Adams was armed with a 9-mm handgun during the at- tempted burglary and when detected by law enforcement, he left with his associates in a vehicle that later crashed. Adams then fled on foot and discarded the gun.

At the time of the incident, Adams was a felon whose prior criminal history in- cluded a 2010 manslaughter conviction. As a result of that conviction, he cannot have a gun or ammunition in his possession.
A 22-year-old Tampa man was treated for non-life threat- ening injuries Tuesday night. He was injured during an ex- change of gunfire with an unidentified suspect.
According to Tampa Police, David G. Anderson, and an unidentified suspect ex- changed gunfire in the 6700 block of N. 11th Street, shortly before midnight.
Anderson was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injury.
Police said it does not ap- pear to be a random act and the investigation is continuing.
Police Search For Car Burglary Suspects
CAR BURGLARY #1
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for two people in con- nection with the burglary of a vehicle. The burglary took place between 10:30 p.m., September 3rd and 9:30 a.m., September 4th.
According to police, the victim parked her vehicle in her driveway, unlocked. Dur- ing that time, someone en- tered the vehicle and removed her wallet from the glove box.
On September 4th, the sus- pects made numerous trans- actions at the Walmart in Seffner, the Mobil Station at 1640 W. Brandon Blvd., the Tilly’s at 955 Brandon Town Center, and the Target at 187 Town Center Drive.
The description of the sus- pects was a Black man be- tween the ages of 22 and 29 years of age. He is 6’3” and weighs 185-195 pounds. The Black woman is between the ages of 22 and 29 years of age. She is 5’3” and weighs 135 to 145 pounds.
They were driving a Ma- roon Kia Sorrento or Cadillac XT5 at the time the photo- graphs were taken, police said.
Police are investigating a robbery that took place early Monday at Curtis Hixon Park, 400 N. Ashley Street. The vic- tim was not injured.
According to police, the victim, who has not been identified, was approached by a Black man shortly before 1 a.m. The man was reportedly armed with a firearm and fled the scene taking property that belonged to the victim.
Police responded to the
Kiley Gardens area of the park looking for what had been reported as a suspicious man. Officers used the K-9 Units and Air Service to search the area. However, they were not able to locate the suspect.
He is described as being 6’ tall and was wearing a blue bandana, white tank top and black jeans. He was also car- rying a tan backpack. The in- vestigation is continuing.

Wrong Way Driver Gets 4th DUI Charge

The Tampa Police Detec- tives are currently searching for a man who broke into a business early Friday morn- ing. Once inside the business, he removed money from a donation jar before fleeing the scene.
According to police, the man broke into the Village Inn Restaurant, 215 N. Dale Mabry, shortly after 2 a.m., Friday. Once inside, the man

took money from the cash drawers and from a charity donation jar. He was pho- tographed by the business’ surveillance camera. He was wearing dark clothing and carrying a bag.

Deputies with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice arrested a 29-year-old Tampa man on alcohol re- lated charges. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving while his license were suspended or revoked, providing a false name to law enforcement, and on 2 active warrants.
According to police, at 6:45 a.m., on September 3rd, citizens observed a white 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck traveling in the wrong lanes on E. Fletcher Avenue at Nebraska Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle continued for approximately 1 mile until he crossed over the concrete median near N. 22nd Street, and went back into the correct lane.
Sgt. Ryan Balseiro ob- served the vehicle and con- ducted a traffic stop at Fletcher Avenue and the Hillsborough River.
Sgt. Balseiro observed an open container of beer in the cup holder when he ap-

proached the vehicle. He also observed several empty beer cans on the front passenger floorboard.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Juan G. Velasco-Arcos. Velasco- Arcos was given a sobriety examination at the scene and based on its results was ar- rested for DUI. He was trans- ported to Central Breath Test, where his blood alcohol con- tent registered .198, police said.
This is the fourth time Ve- lasco-Arcos has been ar- rested for DUI since October 2016, police said.
