Tom Brady Says
Bucs DL Vita Vea Carted Off With Knee Injury
VITA VEA
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a second straight dis- appointing loss, dropping a 29-19 contest on the road to the Washington Football Team on Sunday, but there are big- ger concerns moving forward for the defending Super Bowl champs.
Defensive lineman Vita Vea went down with an injury on Washington’s game-sealing touchdown run in the final moments and had to be carted from the field.
After the game, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said Vea “felt something in his knee,” but gave no further de- tails on the nature of the in- jury, nor the severity or a potential timetable for return.
Vea suffered a broken leg in Week 5 last season and re- turned for the NFC title game and Super Bowl. Hopefully, this injury isn’t as serious as it might have appeared Sunday.

Green Bay running back Aaron Jones left the Pack- ers' 17-0 win over the Seattle Seahawks early on Sunday af- ternoon, and is believed to have sprained his MCL.
Jones went down in the third quarter, and didn't re- turn. The severity of Jones' injury is unclear, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, though he is set to undergo an MRI to confirm the MCL sprain.

‘Not A Great Day Of

Face Chiefs Sunday
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady didn’t have a lot to say after Sunday’s 29-19 loss to the Washington Football Team.
Brady took the podium for his postgame press con- ference and relinquished it about a minute later. The first question for Brady con- cerned what kept the offense from making splash plays against a Washington defense that had given up a good number of them in the first eight weeks of the season.
“We just never really played on our terms,” Brady said. “We played from behind the whole game. They played a good game. They had a good plan.”
Question No. 2 was about coming off the bye week with a loss.
“We have obviously . . . not a great day of football for us,” Brady said. “Doesn’t matter who you play if we have a bunch of self-inflicted errors. We gotta eliminate those and see if we can go out and execute the plays that are

there.
Brady’s final answer was
to a question about his two interceptions. Head coach Bruce Arians indicated that he thought both picks, includ- ing one that was in Jaelon Darden’s hands, should be blamed on Brady. Brady didn’t share his insight into who was responsible.
“We started with the ball. They came away with it,” Brady said.
That was it for Brady, who was 23-of-34 for 220 yards, after a frustrating out- ing in Week 10.
The Buccaneers face the New York Giants Sunday at 1 p.m.
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys heard some of the comments after their loss to Denver last week, and it’s fair to say they felt the need to send a message Sun- day.
The Cowboys did so in a 43-3 blowout win over Atlanta on Sunday. That win came a week after a 30-16 defeat to the Broncos, which led Den- ver coach Vic Fangio to claim that he’d created a blue- print for beating the Dallas of- fense that other teams hadn’t yet followed.

day’s win that the Falcons had tried some of the same things Denver tried, but it wasn’t a problem for his offense.
The Cowboys will be play- ing the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday at 4:25 p.m.

'You Have No Idea The Pain
I Felt': Deion Sanders Opens Up About Hospital Stay
Pro Football Hall of Famer and Jackson State head foot- ball coach Deion Sanders opened up about his recent hospitalization in a YouTube video titled "Lord I Thank Ya..."
Sanders missed Jackson State's last three games after undergoing foot surgery and was released from the hospi- tal Wednesday after experi- encing complications from the procedure.
"Lord, I thank you. I see you hear me say that, and you don’t know where that comes from," Sanders said in the video. "It’s a wheelchair right here, and I’m in that chair. Nevertheless, I say, Lord, I thank you. I can’t walk on my own, and people have to help me get in and out of every- thing, but I say, Lord, I thank you. It’s hard to even make it to the bathroom by myself without the assistance of oth- ers, but Lord, I thank you."
SWAC Investigating Brawl After Jackson State Wins In Deion Sanders' Return To Coaching

beat rival Southern University in dramatic, made-for-reality- docuseries fashion to clinch the SWAC East title and a spot in the conference cham- pionship game.
But the end of the game was marred by a postgame al- tercation between the two schools. The SWAC immedi- ately told the media it would investigate the incident. How- ever, Sanders posted a video on his Instagram page apolo- gizing on behalf of JSU for what took place.
Here’s what he had to say:
“On behalf of Jackson State University — Coach Rollins, man, I appreciate you. He’s one of the real ones and I want formally apologize, man. We acted like idiots at the conclusion of the game, the gentleman who thought it was proper to take flags out of plant it in the middle of your field were straight idiots.
