The Carolina Panthers didn’t wait long at all to get former MVP and No. 1 over- all pick Cam Newton in- volved with the offense against the Arizona Cardi- nals. All he needed was one play.
The Panthers beat the Cardinals, 34-10. The Pan- thers will face the Washing- ton Football Team Sunday.
The Panthers picked up Newton this week with a 1 year deal for $10M after Sam Darnold’s injury put
DK Metcalf Has Blunt Explanation For His Ejection
DK METCALF
Seattle Seahawks wide re- ceiver DK Metcalf lost his cool at the end of Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, and he knew exactly what caused it.
Metcalf was ejected late in Sunday’s game for an alter- cation with two Green Bay de- fenders. Most notably, Metcalf grabbed and held on to Henry Black’s facemask after a play, sparking a scuffle.
There was some question as to how Metcalf could do something so blatant so close to an official. His response after the game was brutally honest: he was “tired of los- ing.”

them in a desperate situation at quarterback. Newton, who was released by New England ahead of Week 1,
spent half the season without a team before finally getting that call from his former club.
Well, Newton an- nounced his official return to Carolina on his first snap in the red zone. On second and goal from the 2-yard line, Newton scrambled for an easy touchdown. And as he celebrated the score, he re- moved his helmet to shout, “I’m back!” Newton later threw a 2 yard pass for a touchdown.
Jon Gruden Sues NFL,
Roger Goodell For Forcing
Gruden’s Resignation
Jon Gruden has taken a page from the playbook of longtime Raiders owner Al Davis.
The former Raiders coach has sued the NFL and Com- missioner Roger Goodell in Nevada state court.
“Through a malicious and orchestrated campaign, the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell sought to destroy the career and repu- tation of Jon Gruden, the former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders,” the lawsuit alleges, via David Ferrara of the Las Vegas Review- Journal.
The complaint contend that Gruden was “forced to resign” as a result of the per- sistent leak of supposedly se- cret emails from the Washington Football Team investigation.
“When their initial salvo did not result in Gruden’s firing or resignation, Defen- dants ratcheted up the pres- sure by intimating that

further documents would be- come public if Gruden was not fired,” the lawsuit filed Thursday on Gruden’s be- half alleges.
“They followed through with this threat by leaking another batch of documents to the New York Times for an October 11, 2021 article. On October 7, 2021, Jon Gru- den was the head coach of the Raiders on a 10-year, $100-million contract. By October 11, 2021, he had been forced to resign.”
