RAY WILLIAMS
REVEREND JAMES R. MURPHY
Reverend James R. Murphy of Tampa, FL passed away on Tues- day, November 9, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, 11 a. m. at Victory AME Church (Progress Village), 5202 S. 86th Street, Tampa, FL 33619, with the Reverend Michael B. Price, offici- ating. (MASK RECOMMENDED) Interment will follow at 2 p. m. in Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
Reverend Murphy was a na- tive of Venice, Florida and a resi- dent of Tampa for 46 years. He attended Venice High School and later received his Bachelor of Sci- ence degree in Psychology from St. Leo University. Reverend Murphy enlisted and served in the United States Army from 1975 and was Honorably Discharged in 1983.
He was ordained as an Itiner- ant Deacon of the 11th Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and later or- dained as an Itinerant Elder on Oc- tober 21, 2005. He served as Associate Pastor at Saint James AME Church of Progress Village and later pastored Pleasant Chapel AME Church of Odessa, FL, as well as, Mount Olive AME Church of Plant City, Florida.   also served as President of the Sons of Allen and served as Chair- man of the Black Advisory Council for the Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office. He was selected as a member of the Tampa 100 Distin- guished Black Gentleman and in- ducted into the Hall of Fame by Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister in 2018.
Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by: his father, Roger Mur- phy; and sister, Elizabeth Baker, mother-in-law, Viola Jones, father- in-law, Sgt. John Thomas, sister- in-law, Sherry Willingham (spouse, Roosevelt Willingham), and Robert James Jones, Jr. (spouse, Eulisa Jones).

MR. RYAN N. PRESSLEY, SR.
Ryan N. Pressley, Sr. was born November 29, 1976 in Tampa, FL to Ronald Pressley, Sr. (Dorothy) and Elrie (Lois) Press- ley. He departed this earth to make Heaven his home on Sun- day, November 7, 2021. Funeral Services will be private.
He completed his formal edu- cation in the Hillsborough County Public Schools and was a gradu- ate of T. R. Robinson High School, where he first met his beloved wife. He later received his bache- lor’s degree at Eckerd College.
Ryan was employed by USAA as a Sr. Business Risk & Control Advisor-IT/IS and in the banking industry for over 20 years. Ryan was a devout family man who worked extremely hard to provide for his family and always ensured that his loved ones were well taken care of.
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Leonard Sr. and Julia Pressley, Tommy Charles Williams, and Rose Ann Mattox; father and mother-in- law, James Taylor and Louella Moore-Taylor; uncles and aunts, Amos Pressley (Louise) of Los An- geles, CA, Charles Pressley, Sr., Dan Pressley (Ethel), Lester Pressley, Donald Pressley, Patri- cia Heath of Hartford, CT, Nana Mae Christian, Leatha Mae Ar- mound (Jackie), Alene Williams, Odell Taylor, Sarah Randolph, Sade Harrison-Taylor, Mable Ball, Shirley Moore, Robert Lee Moore, Johnnie Moore, Jr., Rev. DEACONESS ETHEL M. TOLLIVER
Deaconess Ethel M. Tolliver of Tampa, FL passed away on Tues- day, November 9, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, 11 a. m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 2002 N. Rome Av- enue, Tampa, FL 33607, with Dr. C. T. Kirkland, officiating. (MASK RECOMMENDED) Interment will be on Monday, November 22, 2021, 2 p. m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Av- enue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
Deaconess Ethel Tolliver was a native of Georgia and a resident of Tampa for over 60 years. She at- tended Blake Adult High School, “Class of 1966” and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the Jubilee Chorus, The Sanctuary Choir, Deaconess Ministry and the Pastor Aide Ministry.
She was employed at the Hills- borough County Public Schools as a Head Cook and retired after 25 years of service.
Deaconess Tolliver was pre- ceded in death by: her son, Der- rick Law; daughter, Sharon Tolliver-Raiford; mother, Sarah Rivers; sisters, Annie V. Redding, Henrietta Redding, Lela Mae, Mamie Murray, Emridge Streeter, and Rose Powell; sister-in-law, Mary Hightower; nephews, Charles Murray, and John Mur- ray.
Deaconess Tolliver leaves to cherish precious memories with: a loving and devoted husband, Dea- con Charlie Tolliver, Jr.; two lov- ing sons, Carey D. Law (Mary) and Charlie D. Tolliver (Anna Vala); devoted granddaughter, Terrika Law-Howard (Malio, Sr.); devoted great grandsons, Maceo S.
