MR. JAMES EARL ‘PEANUT’ COCHRAN
A Homegoing Celebration of Life for Mr. James Earl Cochran, known to many as “Peanut,” will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 2 p. m. at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, 4216 E. Chelsea Street, Tampa, with Elder Willie Henderson, Pastor, officiating. Interment will fol- low at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
James Earl Cochran was born to the late Lee Cochran and Verdell Jolly Cochran on September 11, 1977 in Tampa. He was a graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School and con- tinued his education while play- ing football for the University of Akron Zipps.
“Peanut” loved everyone he met while exploring life. It took him a lot of places and he was able to see many things in life. We know God makes no mis- takes and he is resting in a bet- ter place. On December 27, 2017 he entered his eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories: his wife, Bennetta Cochran; a loving mother, Verdell Cochran; two sisters, Kathy Leysath (James) and Julie Benton (Adonis); two brothers, Willie Cochran and Charles Cochran (Wanda Langston); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, 4216 E. Chelsea Street, Tampa from 6-8 p. m.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at 1:45 p. m.

MRS. ANNIE MYERS JONES
Mrs. Annie Myers Jones, of Tampa, passed away, Sunday, De- cember 31, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Janu- ary6,at2p.m.atMountTabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street with Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating.
Mrs. Jones was a life-long res- ident of Tampa, Florida. She was raised in the Port Tampa area and graduated from Middleton High School. Mrs. Jones was a promi- nent musician and daycare provider until her health began to fail. She played for many churches in the Tampa Bay Area.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by: her parents, Anthony and Pauline Myers; her husband, Charlie Jones; brothers, Paul, Reginald, John and Harold Myers; and her goddaughter, Tiffany Wat-
son.She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories: her daughters, Paula Foster Diez and Maude Myers; her sons, Urschell Myers and Charles Jones; her brothers, Randolph (Gwen) Myers and Harpin Myers; seven grand- children, seven great-grandchil- dren; and a host of loving family and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, January 5th, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p. m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church, on Satur- day, approximately 1:45 p. m. for the Worship and Homegoing Serv- ice.

MS. SARAH FRANCES MOORE
On Tuesday, December 26th 2017, Ms. Sarah Frances Moore went home to be with her sav- ior. Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:30 p. m. on Sat- urday, January 6th, at Reveal- ing Truth Ministries, 5201 N. Armenia Ave., Senior Pastor, Bryan Powe, with Pastor Lamar Mills, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Sarah Frances Moore was a native of Leslie County, GA, born to the late, Lewis Bobby “L. B.” Johnson, and Hazel N. Johnson.
Raised on a 200 acre family- owned farm, Sarah learned the meaning of steadfast, dedicated work at an early age. Sarah was a graduate of Sumter High School, Class of 1964; Fort Val- ley State College, graduating in 1968 and in later years, at- tended the University of South Florida. Sarah was a dedicated member of the Tampa Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and Revealing Truth Ministries.
Sarah became a successful business leader and entrepre- neur and will be fondly remem- bered throughout this great city by the many people she helped. She served over 30 years as Of- fice Manager for Earl Moore, CPA.
She was preceded in death by: uncles and aunts, Buddy Johnson, Ed Newsome, LeOtis Newsome, Bud Newsome, Dean Newsome, Rosetta (Johnson) Carter, Henrietta Johnson and Queenie Mae Johnson.
Sarah will be forever missed by: her son, Christo- pher Moore (Solisariana), Fayetteville, NC; ex-husband and friend, Earl Moore and family; sister, Juanita Sim- mons (Bennie), Sacramento, CA; brothers, Bobby Johnson (Linda), Charles Johnson (Fele- cia), Joe Johnson, Leroy John- son, Tommy Johnson, Philadelphia, PA, Louie Cour- voisier (Linda) and John Hud- son (June), Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Michael Moore and Sariana Moore; step- grandson, Aaron Andrade; step-daughter, Reina Tinsley; and an unlimited number of ex- tended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Fri- day, January 5th, at 5 p. m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Ave., and (30 minutes) prior to service time on Saturday, January 6, from 2 p. m. to 2:30 p. m. at Revealing Truth Ministries. Repast recep- tion will take place following in- terment at The New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 E. Lake Ave.

SISTER MAMIE RUTH MANN OWENS
Homegoing Celebration for Sister Mamie Ruth Mann Owens will be held on Saturday, January 6,2018at2p.m.atNewHope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott, Tampa, Florida, Pas- tor Larry J. Mouton, Jr., officiat- ing with Rev. James Richardson, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
Sister Mamie Ruth Owens was called home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday morning, December 28, 2017. She gave her life to the Lord at nine years of age at the Coleman A. M. E. Church in Forsyth GA.
She was the salutatorian of her graduating class at the Hub- bard Training School in 1947. Sis- ter Owens later married Reverend Robert Owens in 1949 and, while in Georgia, the couple had four children. The family moved to Tampa, Florida in 1957. After coming to Tampa, the cou- ple had two more children bring- ing the total to six.
Sister Owens worked as a housekeeper before apprenticing with Pearl Harrison Upholstery as a seamstress in 1963. She joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in 1964, where she faithfully sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and men- tored anyone who needed her ad- vice about upholstery, or life in general.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Carl Owens, Sr.; a grand- son, Anthony Bates; and a grand- daughter, Sophia McCoggle.
Sister Owens leaves to mourn her passing: three daughters, Joan Nita Bates, Carol Owens, and Yolanda Owens; two sons, Robert Owens and Eric Owens; granddaughters, Trinity Sun- shine, Cheryl Bates, Lenora Thomas (Bobby), Antoinette Reed (Shelton), Yolanda Culmer, Erica Anderson, Alicia Owens and Ashley Rodriguez (John); grandsons Andrew Bates, Jr., Ronald Bates (Kenyetta), Donald Bates (Teresa), Carl Owens, Jr.; Ezzard Edwards, Byron Owens (Tina), Eric Anderson, Marques Ball (Aline) and Bernard Marlon Ball, Jr.; a host of great grand- children; niece, Arrie Owens. She also leaves a host of cousins and good friends, among the oldest being Sister Teresa Toombs and Sister Catherine Gibson.
There will be a viewing on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5–7 p. m. with the family present to receive friends from 6–7 p. m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

DEACON LEONARD C. JILES
A Homegoing Celebration for Deacon Leonard C. Jiles, who passed away on December 30, 2017, will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11 a. m. at St. James A. M. E. Church of Progress Village, 5202 S. 86th Street, Tampa, Florida, 33619. Rev. Cheryl Ferrell will be offici- ating and Rev. Michael B. Price, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Ceme- tery, 4406 E. Chelsea Street, Tampa, Florida.
Deacon Jiles was born in Americus, Georgia on Septem- ber 17, 1934 to the union of Sim- mie C. Jiles and America Clarke. He was educated in the public schools and upon completion of his education, he traveled exten- sively throughout the country, working as a long distance truck driver. Deacon Jiles was a faith- ful servant of the Lord through- out his adult life and was ordained a Deacon in the Baptist church in 1997.
In 2012, Mr. Jiles met his current wife, Rev. Gloria Asbury Hinds. They were wed in holy matrimony on May 31, 2013 and remained married until his pass- ing. In 2013, he became a mem- ber of St. James A. M. E. Church, where he worshiped alongside his wife, Rev. Jiles, until his health declined in recent months. At St. James, he served as a member of the Usher Board. An outgoing, spiritual, wise man, ‘Deac’ as he was affectionately called, never met a stranger. He loved to share stories of his trav- els and experiences and pass his wisdom along to his children and grandchildren.
He leaves with cherished memories: wife, Rev. Gloria As- bury-Jiles; sons, Bruce Jiles and wife, Sherita, Melvin Jiles, Tony Jiles and wife; daughters, Helen Calloway and husband, Kenny, Theresa Perry and husband, Tony, Sheila Morgan and hus- band, and Andrea Patterson, and Sunshine Patterson and Muffin Perry, who were like daughters; stepsons, Krestal Johnson, Kristopher Townsend and Fred Davis; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Jiles, Bernice Dixon, and Ann Glover; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Becklum Mann, Gwen Taylor, Mildred Diane Becklum and ‘special sister-in-law,’ Linda Brown; brother-in-law, Avery Becklum; close friends, Linda Brown, Sam Davis and Mae Jones and a host of cousins and relatives.
There will be a viewing on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5 – 8 p. m. with the family present to receive friends from 5 – 6 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at ap- proximately 10:45 a. m. for the service.
