Mike Bloomberg Ends Presidential Campaign, Endorses Joe Biden
Joe Biden's Super Tuesday Comeback
With his unlikely romp across the Super Tuesday map, Joe Biden reshaped the 2020 Democratic pri- mary — and got the two-per- son race against Bernie Sanders that seemed like a pipe dream a few days ago.
“I’ve never seen anybody mount a comeback like this — ever,” Matt Seyfang, an expert delegate counter who had worked for Pete Buttigieg, said of Biden’s unexpected rout.
Mike Bloomberg’s poor showing after spending nearly $600 million on ad- vertising has him already considering dropping out. And Elizabeth Warren’s argument to win the nomina- tion in a contested conven- tion lost steam as the senator performed far below expecta- tions, including with her em- barrassing third-place finish
in her home state “Obviously, Bloomberg
and Warren have some soul- searching to do,” Seyfang said.
Bernie Sanders claimed the biggest prize of the night, California, though with vote tallies still out, it was unclear how the delegate count there would shake out.
But in terms of the expec- tations game, it was undeni- ably Biden's night, as he won at least nine of 14 states — including a shocker of a win in Texas and in War- ren’s Massachusetts, where he never held a campaign event or opened a field of- fice.
Also, Biden and Sanders expected he would trail in delegates by the end of Super Tuesday, but Biden ended the night pro- jected to be ahead.

not be the nominee, I will not walk away from the most im- portant political fight of my life."
JOE BIDEN
Mike Bloomberg, the bil- lionaire former New York City mayor who jumped into the 2020 presidential race late and spent over $500 million on an unorthodox campaign, has ended his bid for the Demo- cratic nomination, but vowed to stay in the fight in an at- tempt to defeat President Donald Trump in Novem- ber.
“After Tuesday’s results, the delegate math has become vir- tually impossible — and a vi- able path to the nomination no longer exists," Bloomberg said in a statement. "But I re- main clear-eyed about my overriding objective: victory in November. Not for me, but for our country. And so while I will
the president means uniting behind the most viable Demo- cratic candidate, whom he deemed to be former Vice President Joe Biden.
“I’ve known Joe for a very long time," Bloomberg said. "I know his decency, his hon- esty, and his commitment to the issues that are so impor- tant to our country — includ- ing gun safety, health care, climate change, and good jobs. "I’ve had the chance to work with Joe on those issues over the years, and Joe has fought for working people his whole life," he continued. "Today I am glad to endorse him — and I will work to make him the next president of the United States."

New Laws For Green Card Holders
If you or someone you know is a green card holder you may want to pay close at- tention to this article as there are some new laws going into effect that could get perma- nent residents deported.
A simple mistake is no longer an excuse.
The United States Citizen- ship and Immigration Serv- ices (USCIS) has instituted some new rules that will take effect in 2020.
Follow this story to get email or text alerts from NBC2 when there is a future article following this story- line.
The new green card rules for 2020 include:
GREEN CARD
• Failing to admit you’re an immigrant on your tax re- turns or failing to report some of your income could get you deported
• Men between the ages of 18 and 25 who hold a green card must register with the U. S. Selective Service; failure to do so could lead to depor- tation
• An extended overseas va- cation could cost someone their green card - it could be considered "abandonment"
of the green card.
Not knowing what the new
rules are could get someone holding a green card kicked out of the United States for good.
Andrea Trelles, her hus- band and seven children all became U. S. citizens on Tuesday.
It’s a once in a lifetime op- portunity, and her young son said it feels great and ex- plained the family is excited to no longer be green card holders, potentially at risk of being deported.
“Yes I've seen mistakes being held against people,” said Immigration Attorney DeMine.

65 Years After Emmett Till’s Murder, Congress Finally Makes Lynching A Federal Hate Crime
Congress has finally made lynching a federal hate crime punishable by life in prison, 65 years after the lynching murder of Emmett Till, whom the bill was named after. The measure was ap- proved on Wednesday (Feb. 26)ina410to4vote.
The passing of the Emmett Till Antilynching Act, intro- duced by U. S. Rep. Bobby L. Bush (D-Ill.), ends more than a century of failed ef- forts to pass anti-lynching legislation. The bill was first introduced in 1900 by Rep.
EMMETT TILL
George Henry White, who was the sole Black member of Congress at the time. The Senate unanimously ap-
proved the Justice for Vic- tims of Lynching Act in 2018. “Today is a historic day for this U. S. House of Represen- tatives, this Congress, and the American people,” Bush said in a statement. “Being from Chicago, the death of Emmet Till sent shock- waves through my commu- nity and personally affected me and my family. However, his death would not be in vain, for it was the spark that ignited the long arc of the civil right movement, leading
us to this very moment.”
