DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Family members are outraged after police arrested an 11-year-old girl when they responded to a fight between her and another student on a bus.
According to The Philly Inquirer, the Chester Com- munity Charter School fifth- grader only identified as Zakiyah was arrested by Darby Borough police, put in handcuffs, transported in a police van and held in a juve- nile holding area. There are police policies that we try to follow. If you are in custody, you are in hand- cuffs. That’s the policy.”
Baltimore Gun Trace Task Force Compromised
1,000s Of Court Cases
BALTIMORE, MD — What initially began as hundreds of court cases being compro- mised by the Gun Trace Task Force, has now increased to thousands according to Balti- more’s State Attorney, Mari- lyn J. Mosby.
The Baltimore Sun quotes Mosby, while speaking on a panel Friday morning at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, “At first it was hundreds of cases. Thanks to the testimony that came out just last week, our preliminary estimate is thou- sands of cases that may be impacted by the wrongful and illegal acts of those police of- ficers.”
Currently eight city officers have been brought up on charges of racketeering for using their badges to rob in- nocent citizens. Two of these detectives were convicted just this week. Although allega- tions stem from 2015, some officers have come forward to report that the crimes have been going on since 2008.
Mosby has since charged 10 other officers that are still currently employed by the Baltimore Police Department. But why? No explanation is

really given, but one of the of- ficers accused of serving as security for drug dealer meet- ings, was reassigned to desk duties.
According to the Balti- more Sun, Mosby states, “Now that 10 other officers have been implicated, and are still employed by the Balti- more Police Department, we have to then look at all those cases that are currently being impacted.”
Pastor And Family Attack And Rob Sunday School Teacher
TOLEDO, Ohio — Police say a gun-wielding Ohio pas- tor and two family members have robbed a Sunday school teacher at their church.
The Blade newspaper re- ports St. Paul’s AME pastor Anthony Morris, along with his wife, Zelda Morris, and 19-year-old daughter Ka- mali Morris have been charged with aggravated rob- bery with a deadly weapon.
Police say 39-year-old
Nickema Turner, of Maumee, was in her class teaching over the weekend when the teen grabbed her by the hair. They say Zelda Morris punched Turner in her face and the pastor then threw Turner to the ground. Police say Zelda Morris dumped out Turner’s purse and took items including a stun gun and cellphone. The pastor allegedly held a gun on Turner.
New App Helps Unarmed Blacks Easily Facebook Live Their Encounters With Police Officers
Silver Spring, MD — Solomon’s Shield, a new app for managing emergency and non-emergency law en- forcement encounters has quickly reached over 30,000 downloads.
The app, which is essen- tially in its beta release, has gained traction globally with no marketing.
Solomon’s Shield exists to help prevent escalations be- fore, during, and after police and law enforcement interac- tions. The app is free and en- courages people who are likely targeted by police offi- cers to know the full extent of their rights and how to navi- gate these situations.
The vision for the app is to help make sure citizens un- derstand their rights in cer- tain situations and that police officers, who may not have body cameras recording are accountable to following pro- cedures.
The app, Solomon’s Shield, developed by an African Amer- ican attorney, also enables users to instantly send a quick text to up to 5 friends and rela- tives with their GPS location, and let’s them know that they are involved in an encounter with law enforcement.
Solomon’s Shield is the brainchild of an African American Attorney and his partner. They understand the facts. Attorney James Jar- man, III says, “The stakes
are too high in our communi- ties. We must do what we can to protect both the lives of cit- izens and law enforcement officials. Ultimately, reducing the probability of deadly po- lice encounters.”
The app was released in the Apple store in July of 2017 and Google play store in September of 2017 for limited user testing. It has since gained momentum and has been featured in articles, blogs and podcasts.
It has been downloaded in a number of other countries and has been used for citizen to citizen tense situations.

Chicken Shortage In U. K. Causes Closings Of KFC Franchises
EUROPE — KFC cus- tomers in the U. K. are crying fowl.
Hundreds of franchise lo- cations across the pond were reportedly forced to close due to a chicken shortage, caused by “operational” issues with a newly-hired delivery com- pany.
According to the BBC, suppliers reportedly began running out of chicken last week, after switching
from Bidvest Logistics, a South-African-owned distri- bution company, to DHL. At least half of the 900 KFC restaurants in Britain were temporarily closed, but loca- tions in Ireland are still open.
It’s unclear when the chicken deficit will be recti- fied, but the company is working “’round the clock” to fix the issue.
Most of KFC’s locations in the U. K. are operated by franchisees. Per the BBC re- port, short-term KFC staff will be paid based on an “av- erage” amount of hours worked, while salary employ- ees will receive normal pay- ment.
