Police Identify Man Found Murdered In Apartment Complex
Tampa Bay Tech Lady Titans To Play Championship Game Friday
The Tampa Bay Tech Girls Basketball Team will be playing for the Regional Championship of District 8A on Friday, Feb- ruary 23rd.
The Lady Titans (25-3), coached by Reggie Lawrence, will be taking on the Sharks (25-2) of Gulf Coast (Naples), coached by Mark Woodruff.
The 7 p. m. game will be played at Tampa Bay Tech.
Elderly Man Reported
Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are investigating a murder at an apartment complex. He has been identified as 50- year-old Ali Abdirashid.
According to police, offi- cers responded to River Apartments, 5217 Sonora Court, shortly after 3 p.m. When they arrived, they dis- covered the man’s body.
Police said it is unclear
how long Abdirashid had been dead. However, the cause of death was violent and the death is being inves- tigated as a murder.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.

Police have located an eld- erly man who was reported missing last week. He is safe and has been returned to his home.
Mr. Ansel Hammond,
68, was last seen at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 N. Highway 301, around 4 p.m. He was found on Mon- day near Bill Tucker Road and 301 Hwy S.
A spokesman for the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice said Mr. Hammond had gone up to a home and asked for someone who did not live there.
