Jamie Foxx is a deter- mined man. During a recent talk at the Toronto Interna- tional Film Festival alongside Michael B. Jordan, Foxx revealed he did everything in his power to land the role of Django in Quentin Taran- tino’s 2012 Django Un- chained. When he received word that Idris Elba was one of the actors considered for the role, he made it a point to tell him he should look the other way.
According to Foxx, his management informed him that he wasn’t on the short list of actors that were considered for the film. At the time, Elba had all eyes on him. When Foxx randomly bumped into Elba, he brought up the topic of Django Unchained and told him he was too good

looking for the character "Your beautiful black a** riding up on a horse, there’s going to be some problems for
everyone," he said. Ultimately, the decision
was made to nix Elba from the role because Tarantino thought it wouldn’t make sense to cast a British actor for an American story.
"Yeah, Idris is British and
this is an American story," Tarantino told The Sun. "I think a problem with a lot of movies that deal with this issue is they cast British ac- tors to play the Southerners and it goes a long way to dis- tancing the movie. They put on their gargoyle masks and they do their accents and you are not telling an American story anymore."
Young Thug is currently re- covering from surgery. The “London” rapper updated his Instagram followers on Thurs- day night (Sept. 12) from his hospital bed. Although the surgery's purpose is unknown, it's presumed that the Atlanta rapper is on a speedy road to re- covery.
"Surgery went well...back on ni**as a**’s 'PUNK,'" he wrote.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for the rapper, whose new album So Much Fun peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album features the likes of Future, Lil Baby, Gunna, Juice Wrld, and J.Cole.

MEGAN THE STALLION AND JAY-Z
Just weeks after Megan Thee Stallion was seen with Jay-Z in New York, the breakout Houston rapper has announced her affiliation with Roc Nation.
"I would like to announce that I am officially apart of the @rocnation fam," she said Friday (Sept. 13) with a photo of her and Mr. Carter. "The grind don’t stop!" The rapper has had quite the summer thanks to the release of her
recent project, Fever along with monster singles "Hot Girl Summer" with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign as well as "Cash S**t" with DaBaby.
In addition to her climb to the Billboard charts (both sin- gles made the Hot 100 chart), the rapper made a splash at New York Fashion Week with hangouts with Anna Win- tour and a performance at Rihanna's Diamond Ball.
