Do You Need Change?
“When you are through changing, you are through.”
~Bruce Barton Empowered Greet-
ings. Do you need change? I am not talking about change fora$50,$20ora$10bill.I want to know do you need change for your life?
Stop right now and take a moment to reflect on your life’s journey. Are you doing what you thought you would be doing at this age? Or... do you need change? Are you liv- ing the life you thought you would be living by now? Or... do you need change?
Are you sick in your body? Do you take medicine when you wake up and when you lay down? Are you on medi- cine, just to make it through the day? If so, then you need change. You need a physical change.
Is your mind tired and confused? Have you lost your peace and sense of direction? Are you lost, wandering and
wondering, “Why can’t I seem to get it together?” Then you need change. You need a mental change.
If you don’t have two nick- els to rub together to make a dime and you have more bills than you have money, then you need change. You need a financial change.
Do you feel exhausted, de- pleted or are you experienc- ing a loss of hope? Do you question, “Is there a God and does He care for me?” Well, you need change. You need a spiritual change.
No matter who you are or where you are in life, nine times out of ten you need change. Change is inevitable. When you begin to embrace change and be empowered to change, then your life will change for the better.
Change what you put into life and you will change what you get out of life.
I honestly believe that if you seek change, you'll find. Next step then will be to act on that change so you can be
an agent of change. Until next column, be empowered to get the change you need.

Dorian And Racism?
magine Hurricane Dorian raced up the Gulf of Mexico, destroying coastal cities and leaving nothing standing ex- cept a few walls and debris. There are no buildings or
trees left, and places where banks, schools, homes and hos- pitals, once stood are now empty.
Moreover, residents have no idea where their homes have gone and only have the clothes on their backs. That’s what happened in the Bahamas. Everything is gone, espe- cially on the Abaco islands.
So, what does President Trump say? Trump says, first, “All of the Bahamian refugees must have visas in order to come to America.” Most of the refugees can’t even find where they used to live, let alone find visa cards.
In addition, Trump was quoted as saying, “I don’t want to allow people that weren’t supposed to be in the Bahamas to come to the United States, including some very bad people and some very bad gang members, and some very, very bad drug dealers.”
Haitian refugees who came to the United States after the 2010 earthquake, which left 1.5 million Haitians homeless, were in the process of being evicted.
Historically, America has helped countries (Serbia, Japan, India, etc.), that experienced natural and man-made disasters.
Given the growing frequency and severity of disasters over the past ten years, America’s foreign aid resources have been reduced.
However, the Bible, Torah, and Koran remind us of how we are to treat “strangers.”
Matthew 25:31-40 summarizes a conversation between Jesus and the Disciples. They asked, “When did we see you, a stranger and welcome you?” Jesus replies, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it unto me.” We wonder where the so-called “Religious Right” is on this issue.
Both the Bible and Torah affirm strongly and unequivo- cally that “Strangers” are to be treated with dignity and hos- pitality. The Koran under a different context, mentions how “strangers” are to be treated.
The United States accepted immigrants from Serbia, Rus- sia, and other major European countries without question.
Why is it that Haitians and Bahamians are treated differ- ently? By the way, who owns the boats, planes and ships that bring drugs into this country anyway?
