MR. ANGELO FREEMAN
A Homegoing Service for Mr. Angelo Freeman, will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 1 p.m., at St. James Church, 1936 S. Madison, Clearwater, FL 33756.
Angelo was born on March 2, 1952, and sent home on December 11, 2019. Angelo was raised in Tampa, FL and attended the Hills- borough County Schools.
He resided in Clearwa- ter, FL and worked in Healthcare for over 30 years. He also served in the military in the early 1970s.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Willie Maude Couzens; his sisters, Shirley Ann Freeman and Francelia Rodriguez.
He leaves behind to cher- ish his memories: his loving wife, Rose Freeman; his children, Eticia Bowden, (John), Angelo Freeman (Sylvia), Malcolm Freeman, LaMarcus Freeman (Kim), Dedrell Freeman, Langston Freeman, Keith Freeman, (Victoria), Anna Freeman, Latrecia Freeman, Mikelle Freeman, and Rique Webb; 7 surviving siblings, Walter Freeman (Ella), Larry Free- man, Jerry Couzens (Lois), Regina Glenn, Juan Couzens (Juanita), Jeffrey Couzens, and Carlos Burdett (Lucy); his aunt, Lucy St. Clair; and 29 grandchildren and a host of great grands, cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
The wake will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Woody’s Funeral Home, 800 S. MLK, Jr., Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33756.

Student Fatally
Injured By Gunfire
A 15-year-old student was fatally injured by gunfire. The shooting took place at a home in Fishhawk.
The shooting took place shortly after 4 p.m., Friday. It occurred at the home of a Tampa Police officer, who was not at home at the time of the shooting.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, a total of 4 teenagers between the ages of 15 and 16 were home at the time of the shooting. The teenager was struck in the upper body. An- other teenager called 9-1-1 and deputies arrived at the scene within five minutes. The 15-year-old was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. The victim was not a member of the police officer’s family.

The Hillsborough County
School District provided Grief Counselors for the stu- dents at Newsome High School, where Hulett was a student.
Tampa Police Chief Brian Duggan was made aware of the shooting and communicated with the Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.

Man Charged With
Distributing Drugs
Causing Death,
Serious Injury
Last Friday, a supersed- ing indictment charged a Safety Harbor man with con- spiring to distribute a drugs that led to the death of one person and serious injury to another.
David Burkes, 51, of Safety Harbor, is accused of conspiring to distribute a substance that contained a mixture of fentanyl, and acetyl fentanyl. One person died after using the drug and a second was seriously in- jured.
According to court docu- ments and information pre- sented in court, beginning on August 12, 2019, Burkes distributed fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl, to two indi- viduals. The two individuals snorted the substance. A short time later, one of the individuals lost control of the vehicle the two were riding in, veered into a Walgreens parking lot, and overdosed. Medical personnel found the

two individuals on the ground in the parking lot. They successfully revived one of the individuals, while the other died.
Between August 13, 2019, and August 15, 2019, after the fatal overdose, Burkes continued to distribute nar- cotics to undercover officers in Safety Harbor.
If convicted, Burkes faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 20 years, and up to life, in federal prison.
