Police Discover Body Floating In River
Police Search
Police Investigate Early Morning Home Invasion
        The body of an unidentified man was discovered in the Hillsborough River near the 8100 block of N. Florida Av- enue, Tuesday.
Police are attempting to identify a man whose body was found in the Hillsborough River Tuesday.
The incident
took place in the 3200 block of N.
44th Street, shortly
after 1 a.m., Wednesday.
victim was only pushed as the suspects entered the home.
The second suspect rum- maged through the residence searching for money and valu- ables. However, he only took the victim’s cell phone, police said.
Both suspects walked one of the victims out of house and through the front yard. At some point, he was able to es- cape and fled on foot. The sus- pects then fled the scene.
The victim later returned to the residence and provided a statement to police before he was transported to a local hos- pital.
The investigation is contin- uing.
 Police are currently investi- gating a death. The body was discovered Tuesday.

Police have not released the identity of the man or located a next of kin. No additional in- formation was available at press time. The investigation is continuing.
An unidentified suspect shot the victim in the leg as he attempted to break up a fight in front of Habibi Hookah Lounge.
Tampa Police are searching for a gunman linked to an early morning shooting. The shooting took place early Monday at a local club.
According to police, officers responded to the Habibi Hookah Lounge, 1600 block E. 7th Ave., in reference to a shoot- ing. When officers arrived at the scene they discovered that a man had been shot in the leg.
The victim told police that shortly after midnight he and his cousin were standing in front of the Habibi Hookah Lounge when a verbal argu- ment between the victim’s cousin and the unknown sus- pect escalated to a physical al- tercation.
The victim was attempting to break up the fight when he was shot in the leg. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim and his cousin told police they did not know the suspect prior to this en- counter. He is described as a Black male with a dark com- plexion, long dreadlocks pulled up, and was wearing a white shirt with pink shorts. He fled from the scene on foot.

According to Tampa Po- lice, the first victim was sitting in a vehicle when he was ap- proached by the two men, both dressed in all black clothing and wearing black ski masks.
The victim was ordered out of the car and forced into the home at gunpoint. The first suspect was armed with a black semi-automatic weapon and placed it against the vic- tim’s head as he demanded money. The victim was struck on the back of his head several times, causing an abrasion.

Tampa Police are investigating an armed home-invasion that took place early Wednesday morning in the 3200 block of N. 44th Street.
 Man Who Took Car With 3 Kids Inside Arrested
 Tampa Police were instru- mental in capturing a man who had stolen a vehicle in Lakeland Sunday night. When he took the vehicle, three small children were inside.
According to police, the in- cident began in Lakeland Sun- day night when a man approached the victim at 222 W. Ethelene St., Bartow, shortly before 8 p.m. The man forcibly took possession of a red 2011 Kia Sorrento. The victim’s three small children between the ages of 2 and 6 were inside the vehicle, police said.
The children were not in- jured and were released sev- eral blocks down the street.
Bartow Police notified all agencies in the area about the armed carjacking. Less than 30 minutes after receiving the notification, officers observed the vehicle traveling west- bound on Floribraska Avenue towards Nebraska Avenue.

11:20 p.m. The officers main- tained surveillance on the ve- hicle until Air Service was able to monitor it safely from above.
The vehicle was parked at the Sunoco Gas Station in the 2300 block of Nebraska Av- enue. The driver exited the ve- hicle and street officers quickly converged on the loca- tion. The suspect, identified as Deshawn A. Newland, 25, was arrested without incident.
He was transported to the Orient Road Jail and charged with armed carjacking, and armed kidnapping.
