Teacher Arrested
Ex-Boyfriend Jailed For Killing Mom In Front Of Children

A Lakeland man was ar- rested recently and charged with first-degree murder. He is accused of killing his estranged girlfriend in front of her three small children.
According to the Lakeland Police Department, Ms. Jean- niary Dominguez died on July 19, 2020. She suffered sev- eral gunshot wounds.
When police arrived at the location in the 1100 block of Monroe Street, around 9:30 p.m., that Sunday, they found Ms. Dominguez had been shot several times. They also learned that her 3 children, ages 3, 5, and 7 had witnessed the murder.
None of the children were injured, police said.
There was limited physical evidence at the scene and no eyewitnesses, other than the children, police said.
However, the investigation continued and detectives ob- tained 15 search warrants at- tempting to locate a suspect. During the searches of homes, cars, and electronic devices, they located evidence.
The investigation led them to 22-year-old Jacarie Don- vontis Moore, of Lakeland. Moore was already in the Polk County Jail on other unrelated charges.
On Monday, detectives charged Moore with first-de- gree murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling. During the investigation, detectives learned that Moore was Ms. Dominguez’s estranged boyfriend.

Behavior With Student
 A 28-year-old middle school teacher has been ar- rested. He is accused of inap- propriate communications with a male student.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, James Michaud turned him- self in at the Orient Road Jail. Michaud is the AVID teacher at Greco Middle School.
The investigation began on September 12, after the parents of the victim filed a complaint. The complaint revealed that Michaud sent inappropriate and explicit messages of a sex- ual nature to the student through social media on sev- eral occasions.
Further investigation into Michaud’s social media pro- vided evidence that he sent ex- plicit messages to other minors as well. Detectives are attempt-

ing to determine if those mi- nors are students at Greco Middle School.
Michaud was charged with being an authority figure soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student; the transmission of harmful mate- rials to a minor, and unlawful use of a two-way communica- tions device.
Detectives with the St. Pe- tersburg Police Department are currently investigating a death. The body of the victim was found in the truck of the car after the fire was extin- guished.
According to police, shortly after 6 a.m., Monday, the St. Petersburg Fire Depart- ment responded to a car fire.
The car was on the Pinellas Trail behind the Twin Brooks golf course near 22nd Ave., South and 41st St. S.
After the fire was out, fire- fighters discovered a body in the trunk. The body was too badly burned to determine race or sex, police said.
The investigation is contin- uing.
   Woman Charged With Attempting To Escape Jail
Man Charged With Carjacking HART Van

An inmate at the Orient Road Jail has been charged with attempting to escape. The incident took place Sunday af- ternoon.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, inmate Ashley Bryant, 28, was assisted by another in- mate, identified as 27-year-old Shelby Hartley.
Hartley climbed into the ceiling on the second floor in an effort to escape from the jail. She fell from the ceiling to

the ground and suffered non- life-threatening injuries. A jail nurse initially rendered aid be- fore Hartley was transported to a local hospital. Over the course of their investigation, detectives learned Hartley al- legedly told the jail nurse, “I’m sorry. I was trying to get out. I was trying to get away.”
Hartley was charged with escape, and failure to remain within limits of confinement. Bryant is charged with aiding an escape.
Deputies arrested a man last week and charged him with carjacking a HART van. The incident took place on September 16th.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, a HART driver contacted police who told them he had been in- volved in a disturbance with a man. The driver indicated that the man ordered him to drive to a different location.
In fear of his life, the driver attempted to get back into the driver’s seat of the vehicle. However, the suspect jumped into the driver’s seat and began threatening the driver if he didn’t take him to Wimauma.
Investigators said the 9-1-1 call had come from a shopping center in the 3000 block of E. College Avenue, in Ruskin. When deputies arrived, they

could not lo- cate the van. They later learned that the driver had left the location after the suspect or- dered him to take him to Wimauma.
Deputies responded to the Wimauma area, and located the van. The driver was not in- jured.
Deputies also located the suspect, identified as 36-year- old Roberto Allen, at 5802 State Road 674, in Wimauma, at a BP Gas Station and took him into custody.
Allen was charged with carjacking, false imprison- ment, and trespassing in an occupied structure.
