Winston Wanted
Giants Have Not Committed Publicly To Picking Up Odell Beckham’s Option
To Be A Podiatrist
When He Was Young
Odell Beckham, Jr. is one of the most talented wide receivers in football, so pick- ing up the fifth-year option on his rookie contract seems like a no-brainer for the New York Giants. It would be shocking if they let Beck- ham hit the free agent mar- ket next offseason, but for some reason they have yet to make their decision official.
Ralph Vacchiano of SNY notes that there “seems to be no doubt at all” that the Giants will exercise Beck- ham’s option, yet they won’t say so publicly with the dead-
Joe Mixon Settles Lawsuit With Victim Over Punch
JOE MIXON
Joe Mixon has resolved the biggest legal issue he had entering the draft.
The former Oklahoma run- ning back reached an out of court settlement with Amelia Molitor, the woman he punched during the summer of 2014. The incident resulted in Molitor suffering broken bones in her face and led to Mixon being suspended for the 2014 season. Video was re- cently released.
According to their state- ment about the settlement, both parties were able to talk and resolve things amicably, leading to the civil suit being dismissed.
Mixon received a one-year deferred sentence, counseling, and had to complete 100 hours of community service as part of his punishment for the crime.
closer,” general manager Jerry Reese said on Thurs- day. “We will keep all of our options open with respect to that.”
The fifth-year option on a rookie first-round pick’s con- tract guarantees the player an average salary of the third- through-25th highest-paid players at their position. That number will likely work out to around $8 million for Beckham in 2018, which seems like a bargain for a 24- year-old when the highest- paid receivers are making around $15 million annually.
Jameis Winston didn't always dream of becoming a superstar in the NFL ... in- stead, Winston says he wanted to work on feet for a living.
The Pro Bowl signal caller revealed his childhood inspi- ration in a Twitter Q&A ... saying a family podiatrist left such a big impact on his life, he wanted to follow in her footsteps.
Winston says the doctor helped out with his grandma's type 2 diabetes and his dad's "terrible feet,"

Marshawn Lynch, Raiders In Dispute Over Money
Steve Kerr Reportedly
Expected To Miss
As is so often the case when two sides negotiate but fail to reach a deal, it looks like the dividing issue be- tween the Raiders and Mar- shawn Lynch is money.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Tafur, the Raiders want to pay Lynch a third of the $9 million the back was set to make from the Seahawks. Lynch reportedly is balking at taking less than half of that amount.

has to be worth his while considering he sat out all of last season.
Steve Kerr’s current condition is so bad that he is expected to miss the entire first-round series between the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers, according to a report.
Kerr did not coach his Warriors in Saturday’s Game 3 because he is ill — a vague description that encom- passes the mystery behind why he is ailing and under- plays just how bad of shape he’s in.
Stephen Curry gave us an idea of how bad Kerr is doing when he said he was going to give his coach the game ball following the Game 3 win.
The San Jose Mercury News’ Marcus Thompson reported after the game that Kerr is expected to miss the rest of the Warriors’ first- round series.
Thompson provided some details about Kerr’s condition:
At the worst of this current illness, Kerr was in excruci- ating pain, according to the sources, and he could barely walk. It was scary because it

wasn’t a feeling he’s had be- fore.
Kerr hasn’t felt well all se- ries, according to people around him, and recently it became unbearable.
All of that sounds awful.
Kerr missed the first 43 games of last season as he re- covered from a second back surgery following a proce- dure that went wrong. Kerr had a spinal fluid leak after his first surgery, which re- sulted in him experiencing many symptoms making him feel ill. If what he’s going through now is nothing like what he experienced in the past, it must be truly scary.
Aaron Hernandez Feared Being Outed As Gay
Reports have been circu- lating this week following the death of Aaron Hernan- dez that the former NFL player murdered one of his friends to cover up being outed as gay.
Newsweek reported on Friday that Hernandez murdered Odin Lloyd in 2013 because Lloyd had found out Hernandez was bisexual. They also say that one of the three suicide notes Hernandez left behind was for his prison boyfriend.
The Daily Mail reported the same about Hernan- dez’s note being written for a prison boyfriend, though other news reports said the note was for a lawyer.
These are not the first re- ports of Hernandez’s sexu-

ality being in question, though it certainly comes from the most credible outlet yet.
New England journalist Michelle McPhee reported on “The Kirk & Callahan Show” that Hernandez had a relationship with a male friend from high school.
