Alex Smith Has Leg Brace Removed Eight Months After Injury
ALEX SMITH
Alex Smith took a step to- ward recovering from his cata- strophic leg injury with the removal of a brace on Monday.
Smith’s wife posted a pic- ture to Instagram of the Wash- ington Redskins quarterback holding up his complex leg brace, adding in a caption that it was a “big milestone” in his recovery.
The next step in Smith’s rehab is unclear. He has previ- ously said that he is essentially having to relearn how to use his leg to run and move, which is a major obstacle for an NFL quarterback.
Kendrick Perkins Warns Zion Williamson To Avoid New Orleans Food
ZION WILLIAMSON
One of the concerns sur- rounding Zion Williamson now that his NBA career has begun is his weight, and Kendrick Perkins thinks the former Duke star will have to work extra hard to avoid culi- nary temptations in New Or- leans.
Perkins, who spent a sea- son with the Pelicans, said there are going to be people in New Orleans offering Williamson good eats every- where he goes. The retired big man said the Pelicans better lock Zion away if they want to keep him in shape.
Williamson is listed at 285 pounds, which is heavy for a player who is about 6-foot-6.
Big Baller Brand

Selling T-Shirts, Hats
Winston's Back
For $5 On Clearance
Yesterday, I took a look back at a video of Jameis Winston taking part in ESPN’s Draft Academy lead- ing up to the 2015 NFL Draft, where the Tampa Bay Bucca- neers would eventually make the former FSU star the first overall pick.
What was noticable about the video segment was that even though Winston ex- plained his off-the-field is- sues in high school and college, he blatantly omitted the infamous incident with the crab legs.
Whether that should’ve been a red flag or not re- mains to be seen, but there’s no question that 2019 will be a make-or-break year for the former Heisman Trophy winner.
After two-straight 5-11

seasons, Winston’s time in Tampa Bay could be over if the losing continues this sea- son.
Fortunately, though, Winston seems to have the backing of at least one team- mate in cornerback M.J. Stewart, who spoke to NFL Network today and clearly still sees Winston as a leader.
It doesn’t seem like all that long ago that LaVar Ball and his Big Baller Brand were being relentlessly mocked for selling $500 sneakers.
The ridicule still exists, but for a much different reason now.
At one of their pop-up shops over the weekend, Big Baller Brand was selling sev- eral items on clearance. Prices ranged from $5 for T- shirts and hats to $100 for a package that includes a T- shirt, hoodie, pair of shoes and pair of socks.
When the Big Baller Brand first launched, Lonzo Ball’s signatures shoes were selling for $495. Hats and T-shirts were around $50. Many peo-

ple thought the prices were absurd, but LaVar Ball in- sisted all of the items were selling at a furious pace and his family was making money in bundles.

Keenan Allen
Complains About
  His Madden Rating
The player ratings for the video game “Madden NFL 20” were released on Mon- day, and let’s just say several athletes were not pleased with their markings.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen was among those protesting his rating. Take a look at this video where he cites every- thing wrong with the num- bers he received:
All that is leading Allen to boycott the video game.
Allen has put up two pretty excellent seasons for the Chargers in a row. He had

97 catches for 1,196 yards and six touchdowns last season. The year before he had 102 catches for 1,393 yards and six touchdowns.
Taco Tuesday seems to be one of LeBron James’ fa- vorite things in life. He’s shared videos on social media in the past on Taco Tuesday where he goes around the din- ner table asking each member of his family what day it is. Of course, they’re all eating tacos for dinner.
This week he shared more video clips on his Instagram Story for Taco Tuesday, but there was a special guest: his new Los Angeles Lakers team-
mate, Anthony Davis.
The other guest in the video was Dior Johnson, who is a travel ball teammate of Bronny James. Dior is a top prospect for the class of 2022 but will be playing at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, not Sierra Canyon
with Bronny.
The James and Davis
clans seem to get along quite well as the two stars get ready for their first season together on the Lakers.
