AIKENS
MRS. BETTYE JEAN BROWN
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Bettye Jean Brown, who passed away on Wednesday, Janu- ary 20, 2021, will be held on Satur- day, January 30th, 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Moriah P. B. Church, 1225 N. Ne- braska Ave. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bettye Jean Brown was called to heaven, joining her parents, John and Alberta Batchelor.
Preceding her in death were: siblings, Ethel Brewer, James Batchelor, Louise Riggins, Leandra Batchelor and Billy Batchelor. What a celebration!
Mrs. Brown was born May 25, 1934, a native Floridian from Plant City, Florida. She had a brief stay in Atlanta, Georgia, where she be- lieved she would live, but missed her family and decided to return home to Florida. While pursuing an education in Hillsborough County Public Schools, she continued her studies with the Business of Cosme- tology. She completed the Sunlight Beauty School under the direction of Mrs. Roberson in Tampa in the mid 1950s. After graduation, she completed beautician license re- quirements for the State of Florida.
Mrs. Brown continued to work and complete other classes for cer- tification as a Master beautician. She remained a member of the Or- ange Blossom Cosmetology Unit, later establishing her business at her home address. She loved her work. As a passionate caretaker, she wanted to make sure others had their basic necessities and some-
times caring for people in her home. Mrs. Brown had a great love for her church, Mt. Moriah P.B. Church, where she served on several com- mittees: her highest honor of serv- ing on the Mother’s Board, singing in the #3 Chorus for over 40 years and maintaining the “Wall of Memo- ries.” She was an ardent member and raised her children to remain dedicated while serving in the
church.
Her husband, Mr. Clifford
“Quack” Brown, of the National Negro Baseball League, swept her off her feet and they have been mar- ried nearly 70 years. “His love for his wife is infinite,” he said.

MRS. FLORENCE ANITA BLUDSAW
A Graveside Service for Ms. Florence Anita Bludsaw, 57, of Tampa, Florida, who passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Pastor Clyde Ham- mond, officiating. The interment will follow.
She was born March 5, 1963, in Tampa, Florida to the parent- age of Benjamin Bludsaw, Sr., and Vena Bell Hammond.
Florence attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, Florida, and worked in the restau- rant industry. “Wimpy” a/k/a “Flo,” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who brought infec- tious joy wherever she was. She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up any room.
She loved life, she kept every- one laughing, she was always the life of the party, a beautiful soul gone away too soon. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Florence was preceded in death by: her father, Benjamin Bludsaw, Sr., and her sister, Lil- lian Marie Bludsaw.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her four chil- dren, Darmaine Jackson, Carlton McCullough, Jr., Konika Bludsaw, and Reshod Bludsaw; 14 grand- children, Deranesha Williams, Darmaine Jackson, Jr., Danario Jackson, Darmariah Jackson, Darriana Jackson, Samya Jack- son, Reagan Jackson, Raine Jack- son, Jacarri Jaylen McCullough, Nae’Quan Johnson, Ramya God- frey, Rashad Godfrey, Jr., Reshod E. Bludsaw, Jr., and Zion D. Blud- saw; 2 great grandchildren, Davaris Hendrix and Davario Hendrix; mother, Vena Bell Ham- mond; 3 brothers, Pastor Clyde Hammond, Cedric Mack, and Ter- rence Bludsaw (Joeanna); 4 sis- ters, Brenda Burney, Marilyn Bludsaw Greene, Ponda Battle (Herman) and Norma Bludsaw; 3 aunts, Margaret Ann Jones, Glo- ria Jean Cosby and Rebbie Jacobs (Charles); honorary daughter, Tamara Buie; a devoted compan- ion and friend, Gerard Fesser, best friends, Valencia Simpson, Luvenia Wimbley, Ernest Lee and Martha Moultre, Maggie Burns, Mennie Thomas; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.

MS. CHAQUELLA LASHONE JACKSON
A Homegoing Celebration for Chaquella Lashone Jackson, of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2:00 p.m., Greater New Salem P. B. Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Ave., Pastor Benjamin Curry, officiat- ing. The interment will be held in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Chaquella Lashone Jackson was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from Brandon High School c/o 1990. She was employed at the Fresh Market for 20 years as a Head Baker and just recently being pro- moted to Assistant Bakery Man- ager.
Chaquella was preceded in by: her father, Nathaniel Jackson, Jr.; grandparents, Dorothy Burgess, Clem Salter, Juanita Jackson White and Nathaniel Jackson, Sr.; and sister, Dionne Jackson.

MRS. RUBY J. CAMPBELL PERKINS
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Ruby J. Campbell Perkins, of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021, will be held on Saturday, January 30th, at 12:00 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd, Tampa, Florida, Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. The interment will be held in Orange Hill Ceme- tery.
Ruby was born on July 26, 1938, to the late Keiser Edmond and Ida Mae Powell in Valdosta, Georgia.
She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of West Tampa. Ruby loved to crochet, being with her family, dancing, and telling jokes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son; Eric Campbell; and sisters, Maggie Watson, and Jeanette Brown.
