Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay has listed the property located at 1218 E. Kay Street in Tampa (previ- ously the Nick Capitano Boys & Girls Club) for sale. The building once served the local community and the children at St. Peter Claver Catholic School, but due to lack of youth after school enroll- ment, it has been dormant since 2017.
“Unfortunately, there was- n’t enough youth enrollment to justify a full program at this location,” said Terry Carter, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay President & CEO. “We are excited that, with the repurposing of this building, we will be able to use the funds to further our mission by expanding into additional underserved areas in our community. Our mis- sion is to continue to serve more youths, so we will go where there is the greatest need.”
He added, “Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay remain committed to the children at- tending St. Peter Claver School and are hopeful that we can continue collaborat- ing with representatives at St Peter Claver on afterschool
