Tampa General Hospital Updates Visitation Rules

TGH recognizes that these changes will be difficult
for family members who want to visit their loved ones at an important time in their lives. Because the hospital handles emergencies and traumatic injuries every day, exceptions will be allowed in certain cases.
The hospital is imple- menting the changes because of the deep care and concern
for the safety of the team members, physicians and pa- tients.
As one of the largest hos- pitals in Florida, Tampa General Hospital is first in the state to open a command center in partnership with GE Healthcare.

To provide the safest pos- sible environment for team members, physicians and pa- tients, Tampa General Hos- pital is implementing new rules for visitation. All the changes are temporary and designed to prevent commu- nity spread of the COVID-19
Coronavirus.
The changes began on
March 17:
• Adult patients can des-
ignate one support person who will be the patient’s only approved visitor.
• For pediatric patients (including Neonatal Inten- sive Care Unit [NICU]), both parents will be approved vis- itors.
• For patients giving birth, their partner and a cer-
