Role Of The Urban League
he role of the Urban
League of Hillsbor- ough County (ULHC) is to be a conduit for the achievement of Eco- nomic Equity for the African American and Minority Communities of Hillsborough County.
The means to do so will be coordinated by both collaborative and hands up means be- tween the County’s Busi- ness Community and the ULHC.
The second and most important components of this achievement equation are those ac- countable and engaged citizens who have a zeal and commitment for their economic improve- ment.
The ULHC has reached out to most of our County’s Elected Of- ficials and Candidates for a Letter of Support. Yes, the same folks who pander for the African
American and Minority Votes each election cycle.
Thus far, we have been disappointed with the lack of response and recognition of the re- quest. However, we are still hopeful. The ULHC will not provide or pro- mote a slate of candi- dates, but we will soon share on our site (https://ulhc.org/) those companies, organiza- tions, individuals and elected officials who are in support of Economic equity in word and ac- tions for all within our County.

Black Voters’ Second Finest Hour
is name is James Clyburn. But they call him “King
Maker.” Who is Clyburn? He’s the South Carolina “Super vote” representative whose effort and eloquence almost single-handedly swept Joe Biden’s Carolina Pri- mary bid from a pipe-dream to a reality, and who can be said to have awakened a sleeping giant: The Black Amer- ican vote.
And who is the group known as “They?” Let’s say it in- cludes news media, uncommitted voters, Republicans, and Joe Biden supporters themselves who now realize the mammoth role Black voters must play in the 2020 Presi- dential theatre.
Obviously, “They” have forgotten the Presidential elec- tion of 2008. The name Barack Obama should loom large in their memories. And they should recall the great won- der of Black voters by the millions who trouped to the polls in a united force to greet America’s answer to promises of “”forty acres of land and a mule.”
Instead, America was forced to give birth to its first Black president. Barack Obama’s walk down Pennsylva- nia Avenue was not only Black America’s finest hour, 1but it was America’s finest hour.
Then comes Jim Clyburn. Tall, grey-haired, and be- spectacled, with a South Carolina drawl, he came out of left field, and like Jehovah when he rescued Moses, Jim Clyburn and the Black vote parted the waters and saved Joe Biden. We wait Black voters’ third finest hour.
Quantum Leap Your Income
mpowered Greet-
ings. Discover the 3 foundational things you need, in order to start mak- ing a quantum leap in your income. It's almost the end of the first quarter of the year and you have not made sig- nificant gains in your in- come, as expected, when you wrote down your New Year's resolution.
You may have made more money, but yet you're still broke. Your bank account is not a reflection of your life, business or ministry's finan- cial goals. I want to share with you 3 conditions I have my coaching clients put in place, to shift their money from barely surviving to thriving mode.
Create A Money-Mak- ing Plan. You have to know where you are going, if you want to get there. Set a S.M.A.R.T. financial goal, of how much money you want
to make, in a specific time frame. SMART money goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. Once you've deter- mined your goal, develop a plan that includes various ways, you will bring in this additional income. Most suc- cessful people have at least 6-7 streams of income. I teach the entrepreneurs that I coach, how to master this secret strategy, so they don't burn out trying to have too many irons in the fire. Pas- sivity and wrap around serv- ices are key elements to have, in your money-making plan.
Be A Problem Solver.
When you learn to develop a keen insight for identifying solutions to other people's problems, then you'll have the answer you need to solve your own money problems. Take inventory of the issues that your customers are fac- ing. Establish a set plan,
product or service that can help them get the answers they need to alleviate the problem. Package the solu- tion and promote it to in- crease your income.
Put A Process In Place. Establish a system- atic way of doing things. Having a set process in place saves you time and money. You don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you want to introduce something new. It will also help you de- liver quality service, to all clients at all times. When people like what you do, how you do it and the manner in which you do it, they'll tell others. The people they tell are potential clients that can also cause you money to take a quantum leap.
These steps are simple enough for you to start now so that you can reap the ben- efits of your money leap sooner instead of later.
