Sanders, Biden Camps Clash Over Arizona Debate Format
Michelle Obama To Host Voter Participation Rally In Detroit
Bernie Sanders wants to stand up at the next debate — and his campaign is accusing Joe Biden of wanting to sit down.
After a private call Friday with CNN, which is moderat- ing the March 15 debate with the Democratic National Committee, Sanders' team balked at a new proposed for- mat for debate, saying it gives his opponent Biden too much of a break in their first one-on-one face-off. Biden’s camp denied that it was pressing for a sit-down de- bate.
The format for the next debate in Arizona — their first since Biden’s blowout Super Tuesday victories — would have the candidates seated for the first time this election cycle and take multi- ple questions from the audi- ence. In the prior 10 debates, the candidates stood at

Gen. Brown, Head Of Pacific
Air Forces, Tapped To
Become Chief Of Staff
WASHINGTON — Gen. Charles Q. Brown has been selected to lead the U. S. Air Force as its next chief of staff, a historic nomination that could make him the first black officer to step into the chief’s role in any of the mili- tary branches.
Defense Secretary Mark Esper said in a release Mon- day afternoon that Presi- dent Trump had nominated Brown to be the Air Force’s 22nd chief of staff. The Wall Street Journal first reported earlier on Monday that Brown was set to be nomi- nated.
Brown, a highly deco- rated and experienced F-16 combat pilot, currently serves as commander of Pacific Air Forces. If confirmed by Con- gress, he will succeed Gen. Dave Goldfein, the Air Force’s chief of staff since July 2016, who will step down from his position this sum- mer and retire.
Brown’s nomination puts him on the path to be- coming the first black chief of staff of the Air Force, or any branch of the military serv- ices, a historic appointment that could bring more atten- tion to the recruitment and retention of minorities, which have typically been underrep-

“I am truly honored and humbled by the nomination to serve as the Air Force’s 22nd chief of staff,” Brown said in an Air Force release Monday. “If confirmed, Sharene [his wife] and I look forward to building upon the legacy of Gen. Dave and Dawn Goldfein and the many airpower giants before who have served our Air Force and our nation with such dedication.”
