Damian Lillard Responds To Paul George Calling Game- Winner A ‘Bad Shot’
DAMIAN LILLARD AND PAUL GEORGE
Kings Currently Standing By Luke Walton
LUKE WALTON
Luke Walton’s new job with the Sacramento Kings is not in danger, at least for now, amid a sexual assault allega- tion.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, there is no mo- mentum within the Kings’ or- ganization to fire Walton at this point after he was accused of sexual assault by a former reporter.
Walton’s attorney has said that the allegation is “not cred- ible.”
The lawsuit, filed in Los An- geles County Superior Court on Monday, was brought by Kelli Tennant, a former col- lege volleyball player who worked as a host on Spectrum SportsNet. Ms. Tennant said the assault took place at the Casa del Mar hotel in Santa Monica, while Mr. Walton was working as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors.
Ms. Tennant visited him while he was in town for a road game to drop off a copy of a book she had published, for which Mr. Walton had written the foreword, accord- ing to the lawsuit.
He took her up to his hotel room, where she said he sud- denly pinned her on the bed, forcibly kissed her and groped her. She told him to stop, but he laughed at her pleas before eventually releasing her, ac- cording to the lawsuit.
She did not report the en- counter at the time, she said, because she was 25 years old, early in her career and fearful of the ramifications.
Devin White Going To
Paul George was not im- pressed with the shot selec- tion on Damian Lillard’s series-clinching three- pointer against the Okla- homa City Thunder on Tuesday night, and Lillard seems quite amused by that.
George was the one de- fending Lillard when the Portland Trail Blazers star buried a three-pointer at the
buzzer, 118-115, to send his team to the next round of the playoffs. There was nothing more George could have done, as Lillard chose to put up a shot from about 36 feet out. Following the game, George called it a “bad shot.” Lillard responded and said, "Ok, I can live with that. We going to the next round."
Joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has Devin White back the same team as Kendell Beckwith, who first connected with White when the Shreveport native arrived at LSU in 2016 and went to the Beckwith family home in Clinton so they could ride horses and eat his mother’s cooking.
The former college team- mates didn’t talk much during the weeks leading into the NFL Draft, but White re- ceived a text message from Beckwith that was so long he didn’t have enough time to read it before he met with media.
“I know it says something about ‘country’ and ‘just be yourself’ and stuff like that,” White said. “He gave me a lot of knowledge (while at LSU), and I’m going to get back to him.”
White is one of six former LSU players selected by the Buccaneers and is the first since Beckwith went there in

the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The others are fourth-round linebacker Kwon Alexander in 2015, first-round wideout Michael Clayton in 2004, first-round defensive tackle Booger Mc- Farland in 1999 and third- round eight end Harold Bishop in 1994.
Alexander left the Bucca- neers as a free agent in March and signed a lucrative con- tract with the San Francisco 49ers. Beckwith played 16 games and started 11 as a rookie in 2017 but did not play in 2018 because of an ankle fracture that caused him to miss the entire season.

The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly agreed to pay Frank Clark up to $105.5 million over the course of the next five seasons with $63 million of that guaranteed.
Clark is now the highest paid member of a Chiefs de- fense that has been dramati- cally overhauled over the last two months. Eric Berry used to be the highest paid safety in football and he was released. Justin Houston was once a $20 million per year player himself, but he was also shown the door.
Clark is the shiny new im- port intended to anchor the Chiefs defense under Steve Spagnuolo for the next five years, a now-young anchor coming into his prime as a
