Travis Scott Sued By Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul For $20 Million Over The Hook For ‘No Bystanders’
Beyoncé Lands $60M Deal With Netflix
Netflix has become a desti- nation for television visionar- ies like Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Murphy, with deals worth $100 million and $250 million, respectively, and top comedians like Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle ($40 million and $60 million, respectively). The streaming giant, which just announced it’s added nearly 10 million subscribers in Q1, is honing in on music, too, landing a three-project deal with Beyoncé worth a whopping $60 million, sources tell Variety.
BEYONCE
The first of the three spe- cials is “Homecoming,” the behind-the-scenes documen- tary chronicling her 2018
Coachella performance — a massive spectacle of dance, visuals and music that reaf- firmed Beyoncé’s moniker of Queen Bey — which pre- miered on April 17. The price tag on this installment, for which Beyonce Knowles- Carter is credited as execu- tive producer, writer and director, hovers around $20 million. Beyonce’s rep did not respond to Variety’s re- quests for comment; Netflix declined comment for this story, although a source at the company disputed the fi- nancial terms of the deal.
DJ Paul from the Grammy-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia claims Travis Scott ripped off the hook for his hit song, “No By- standers,” and now he wants $20 million from Kylie Jen- ner‘s baby daddy.
According to court docu- ments obtained by The Blast, Paul claims Scott’s song features “a very distinctive chant of: ‘f**k da club up; f**k da club up,’ which is clearly the ‘hook’ of the track.”
Paul says the “cadence and sound” of the chat are “virtu-
ally identical and strikingly similar” to the hook from his song, “Tear Da Club Up.”
In fact, Paul says the two are so similar, when Travis Scott performed “No By- standers” at the Grammys this year, he changed the hook to “tear da club up.”
Paul claims that Scott never asked for permission to use any portion of his song.
He’s suing for copy- r i g h t infringement and claims he’s entitled to dam- ages that he “expects to be in excess” of $20 million.

The Game Scores Small Victory Over His Royalties Being Seized In $7 Million Battle
The Game can breathe a little easier after a judge or- dered his music royalties can- not be seized by a creditor to pay off a $7.4 million debt, but leaves the door open for it in the future.
According to court docu- ments obtained by The Blast, a judge has denied a request by Priscilla Rainey who de- manded a court order allow- ing her to seize his income.
The judge said the motion was improperly filed and there is no real emergency. He notes Rainey could seize the royalties in the future but not at this moment.
She recently asked for a judge to assign all rights, title and royalties in any money or payments, explaining he is re-

leasing “Born to Rap” later this year.
Rainey said he still owes her $7,254,123.18 on the judgment she won and wants all his royalties to be paid to her until the debt is settled.
Rapper YNW Melly Facing The Death Penalty
In Florida After Allegedly Murdering His 2 Friends
Rapper YNW Melly is fac- ing the death penalty if con- victed of the double murder of his two friends.
On Monday, the State of Florida announced its deci- sion to seek capital punish- ment against Melly, 19, because prosecutors believe they can prove “beyond a rea- sonable doubt” that Melly murdered aspiring rappers Anthony Williams, 21, and Christopher Thomas Jr., 19, for “financial gain,” according to court docu- ments obtained by XXL mag- azine.
“The murder was especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel, and he committed homicide in a cold, calculated and pre- meditated manner,” the court documents state.

legedly shooting Williams and Thomas Jr. on Oct. 26. After the shooting, which took place in Fort Laud- erdale, Melly — allegedly with the help of another rap- per identified as Cortlen Henry aka YNW Bortlen — covered up the murder by making it look as if it was a drive-by shooting, Miramar Police alleged in a statement
shared on Twitter.
The victims were then al-
legedly driven to Memorial Hospital Miramar by Henry, 26, in a Jeep Com- pass at around 4:35 a.m., Sun-Sentinel reported.
Williams and Thomas were both pronounced dead at the hospital.
Williams was also known as YNW Sakchaser and Thomas was known as YNW Juvy. Both rappers were featured on a documen- tary about Melly posted on Melly’s YouTube page.
According to documents obtained by Complex and TMZ, Melly’s booking re- port out of Miramar, Florida says that Henry drove to an emergency room in the early morning hours asking for help for two friends in his car, claiming they had been shot in a drive-by.
