RAY WILLIAMS
BROTHER HAROLD GIBSON
Brother Harold Gibson, of Wimauma, Florida, departed this life on Friday, July 10, 2020. F u - neral Services will be conducted Saturday, July 25 at 11 a. m. at Mt. Moriah M. B. Church, 5910 Vel Street, Wimauma, FL 33598 with Reverend Eddie Starling, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Wimauma Community Cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Due to Social Distancing, seating will be limited to immediate family unless otherwise stated by family. Masks are required.
Harold was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. and Deloise Mae Gib- son. He received his education in Duval County Public Schools, after which he began a life-long career in farming for over forty years. Harold gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Wimauma, Florida.
Harold was preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. John B. Gibson and Mrs. Deloise Gibson; brothers, John and Clifford Gibson; niece, Darling Calhoun; and mother-in- law, Gloria Young.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: his loving wife, Cheryl Gibson; grandfather, Deacon James Berrien, Sr.; father-in-law, Deacon Charlie Young; children, Bryant Young, Sr. (April), Myesha Young (Vincent), Cherish Riley, Ebony Cohen (Freeman), Spanderia Cooloopk, and LaTisha Gibson; grandchildren, Keelan Young, De- maurio Young, Bryant Young, Jr., Keshawn Young, Jaquez Young, Jimmeira Young, Freeman Cohen, Javanae Young, Kevon Johnson, Julian Cohen, Alaila Jenkins, Otis Jenkins, IV, Kenya Cohen, Kavaila Johnson, Rihanna Gardner, Jordan Cohen, Xajavier Gardner, Javaris Gardner, Paris Gardner, Tyler Gardner, and Jazzaria Wilson; sis- ters, Beverly Y. MR. MARK CHRISTOPHER HEPBURN
Mr. Mark Christopher Hepburn of Tampa passed away Monday, July 13, 2020.
Funeral Services will be con- ducted Friday, July 24, at 11 a. m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 2002 N. Rome Avenue, with Reverend Dr. C. T. Kirkland, Pastor and Officiator. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Mark Christopher Hepburn, affectionately known as “Champ,” was a lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, born to the late Howard and Leora “Leola” Lester Hepburn. Mark was educated and graduated from Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1969.
His parents, Howard and Leora Lester Hepburn and the oldest sib- ling, Katherine Beatrice Hepburn pre- ceded Mark in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his siblings, Dr. Carolyn Hepburn Collins [Norris], Malcolm Anthony Hepburn [Angel], Debra Hepburn Taylor Bailey [the late Alvin], and Matthew Darryl Hepburn [Carolyn Evans]; faithful and dutiful sister-in- law, Sarah Hepburn; children, Mark Hepburn, Jr. [Tereka], Darryl Hep- burn, Ashley Hepburn, Marjorie Hep- burn-Godbolt [Thomas, II], Shondanette Hepburn, Yashica Rose- boro Hepburn, and Amad Hepburn; seven grandchildren; one great grand; uncles and aunts, Theora Lester, Enez Lester, Amityville, NY, Julius Elling- ton [Fannie], Acworth, GA, Emma Ellington, Pompano Beach, FL, Mary Hepburn, Florence, SC, and Margaret Hepburn, Columbia, S. MR. ARCHESTER (‘CHESTER’) NEWSOME, SR.
The Homegoing Graveside Serv- ice for Mr. Archester “Chester” New- some, Sr., who passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020, will be held on Saturday, July 25th, at 2 p. m. at Gar- den of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, with Archbishop David A. Jones, Sr., Pastor of Mountain Top International Ministries, Inc., offici- ating. Interment will follow. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
Archester Newsome was born in Quitman, Georgia to his parents, Norris and Minnie Lee (Jones) New- some. He was a graduate of Union Academy High School, Bartow, FL.
Mr. Newsome retired after many years of dedicated service from Florida Steel. After his retirement, he operated his own business at the Funland Flea Market. “Chester,” af- fectionately called by most family members, and “Archie” by others, loved the Lord. He was a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church, where he sang with the choir. He later joined Mount Olive M. B. Church and was a faithful member until he took ill.
He was preceded in death by: his parents and sons, Greggory Wallace and Joseph Wallace.
Archie leaves to mourn and cher- ish his memories: his devoted and loving wife, Carol Newsome; two sons, A. Stephen (Monique) New- some of Virginia, and Olyn Reecha Newsome; two daughters, Shasta Yolanda Newsome and Charlotte Ce- celia Wallace, of Tampa, FL; brother, Eugene Newsome of Sanford, FL; three sisters, Annie Ruth Newsome, Margaret Newsome Dowdell and Betty Newsome of Rochester, NY; aunt Bessie (Lewis) Manning; uncle, James (Mary) Lewis of Valdosta GA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, dear friends, his Flea Market Buddies, col- leagues and many health care profes- sionals who cared for him during his illness. He has left a big void in our hearts.
The visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p. m. on Friday, July 24th, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 North Howard Ave. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guide- lines. Masks are required.
On Saturday, July 25th the family will line up at the Newsome resi- dence at 1 p. m., then proceed to Gar- den of Memories Cemetery.

MR. SANFORD ROSS
Mr. Sanford Ross of Tampa passed away Friday, July 17, 2020.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 25 at 2 p. m. at The Lowry Center at Beulah Baptist Institu- tional Church, 1006 W. Cypress Street. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Seating will be limited. For the oppor- tunity to view the service via Live Stream, please visit the church website at www.bbictampa.com. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. A Repast will not be held due to COVID-19.
Mr. Sanford Ross was a native of Haddock, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for 75 years. He began his edu- cation with Dobyville Elementary, George Washington Carver, and was a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1962. Mr. Ross contin- ued his education with Fort Valley Col- lege, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in education and with the Uni- versity of Tampa, where he earned his Master degree.
Mr. Ross was a member of Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, where he served faithfully in the office of a Dea- con. His love for God, the Church and the Community was evident to all who had an opportunity to meet him.
He was employed by the School District of Hillsborough County where he coached football at Jefferson High School and worked with special needs children. Deacon Ross touched the lives of many by his love for others.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Sanford and Cora Ross; aunt, Mattie Smith; uncles, James and Homer Tuff.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Claudia Ross; four children, Derrick Ross, Charles Harrell (Patricia), Monica Ray (Kevin), and Gregory Harris (Cathy); six grandchildren, Kianna Ross, Cora Ross, Sherrelle H. Fagan, Mariah Ray, Quintin Ray and Camille Ray; 3 great grandchildren, Joshua Ray, Langston Fagan and Everson-Rose Fagan; one sister, Essie M. Martin of Detroit, MI; uncle, Wiley Tuft (Julia) of Grey, GA, cousins, Mildred S. Jones, Anne Little, Dahila Casey, Pearl Marchman, Ray- nard Tuft, Donald Tuft, Frank Moss (Annett), Tony and Bettye Brown, Joni Harris (Tyrone); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted lifetime friends, John Williams and David Williams, his Beulah Baptist Church Family, Elementary, High School, and College friends and colleagues.

Mr. Joseph William Smith was a native of Tampa, Florida and was ed- ucated in the public schools of Hills- borough County, graduating from Chamberlain High School, Class of 2002. After graduation, he began his career with the University of South Florida, where he worked for 12 years.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: his loving parents, Stanley Regi- nald Smith and Angelina Munoz Smith; his sister, Jerilyn (Allan) Cole; niece, Aleshia Cole; grand- mother; aunt; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
