MR. ROBBIE ECKET REID, SR.
Mr. Robbie Ecket Reid, Sr., who re- ceived his Angel Wings on July 5, 2020, will have several private celebrations of life services held in memory of him in Tampa, and Jacksonville, Florida.
Endearing, friendly, kind, giving...just a few words to describe Rob- bie Ecket Reid, Sr., who, at 52 years old, received his angel wings. Robbie was born October 16, 1967 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was known by many as the “4th quarter man” because he knew how to make win- ning plays in life and business before the buzzer sounded.
Robbie was a very special person. He moved to Orlando, Florida in his late teens and worked for Orange Construc- tion, where he built storage units. Robbie was dedicated and loyal in his interactions and relationships, proven by his long- term employment with Aerial Cable TV, where he was a Lineman for 30 years, and his 30-year marriage to his wife, Loneryl “Dee” Reid.
Robbie met “Dee” July 21, 1989, and they married eight months later on March 19, 1990. Their love story had already been written in the heavens, and they got to walk it out over the span of 31 years to- gether. He was Dee’s “Hunny Bunny,” as she affectionately called him. They were blessed with seven children and 13 grand- children, who are all committed to carry- ing Robbie’s legacy forward.
He was a believer in Christ, and his big heart was created for him to bless oth- ers. Robbie was always looking to help those in need and would give of his time, gifts, and finances where needed. He was a “social butterfly.” Everywhere he went he was always telling someone about Jesus. He served with his gifts in the local church, Center for Manifestation, where you could always find him smiling outside on the stoop waiting to greet partners and visitors as they came to fellowship.
Robbie started his own company, Robbie Reid and Family Communica- tions, to provide jobs and entry level skills to those in the family and those abroad who wanted to learn the trade. He was a man of integrity in business and never left a project undone. As a leader, he always paid his employees over what the going rate of pay was. He was one of the best in the business, he knew his job well and he trained others to succeed.
He loved people, loved his family, and he was a great encouragement to many. His presence and comforting words will truly be missed by all who knew and loved Robbie. His family’s life will never be the same without his physi- cal presence, but they know his spirit lives on through his wife, “Dee,” their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Robbie Ecket Reid, Sr. was pre- ceded in death by: his father, Gerald Hol- loway, and his sister, Jessica Brinson.
Robbie Ecket Reid, Sr. is survived by: a host of family to include, wife, his “Sweet Pea,” Loneryl “Dee” Reid; chil- dren, Robbie Reid, Jr., Maurice Gibbs, Sennatra Tillman, Robin Reid, Rachel Reid, Gabriel Reid, Rebecca Reid; grand- children, Dijon Reid, Areonna Forte, Kamiyah Hightower, Jayden Priester, Jaelle Wesley, Robyn Reid, King Gibbs, Bobbie Gibbs, Nakhia Mainor, Robbie Reid, III, Kaleb Gibbs, Zoe Tillman, and Riley Tillman; mother, Hattie Reid; broth- ers, Farrah Reid, Morris Reid, Timothy Reid; sisters, Sandy Brown, Ramona Nicholas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a viewing on Friday, July 24, 2020, from 6 – 8 p. m. at Center For Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
