Biden Promised To 'Reverse The Failed Trump Policies' On Cuba
U.S. Surpassed 20,000 New COVID-19
Asked in March whether President Joe Biden in- tended to lift his predecessor’s last-minute designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of ter- rorism, White House press sec- retary Jen Psaki told reporters: “A Cuba policy shift is not currently among Presi- dent Biden’s top priorities.”
She gave an almost identical response a month later when pressed for reaction to Raul Castro stepping down as head of Cuba’s Communist Party.
Six months in, that refrain makes one thing clear: Amid burgeoning foreign crises from Nicaragua to Afghanistan, Biden’s team wasn’t ready to turn its attention to Cuba.
And they come as concerns within the White House about Cuba have grown in recent days, according to two people in touch with administration officials. Before the protests, U.

"You don't want to see two separate Americas, one that's vaccinated and protected and yet another that's unvaccinated and very much at risk," Fauci said.
Overall, 47.9% of the U. S. population is fully vaccinated while 20 states have fully vac- cinated more than half of their
residents.

The surge has alarmed offi-
cials in Mississippi, where only a third of the population is fully vaccinated. Florida surge of unvaccinated is truly alarm- ing.
"We've seen almost an entire takeover in the Delta variant," said State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs.
Thousands of Cubans took to the streets on Sunday to protest food and medicine shortages amid a worsening economic cri- sis.
S. officials were looking at what they could do to ease the Cuban people’s suffering, one of the people, a Cuba analyst, told reporters. That included possibly easing travel restric- tions as well as limits on peo- ple’s ability to send money to relatives and others on the is- land — changes Biden himself discussed on the campaign trail.
The U. S. has surpassed 20,000 new COVID-19 cases for the fourth day in a row as the highly contagious Delta variant persists in its track in being the most common form of the coronavirus in the coun- try. The unvaccinated who are walking around thinking they don't need to be vaccinated are in real danger.
The last time the country had back-to-back days of cases topping 20,000 was in May, according to the data.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, who heads the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Preven- tion, said Thursday that more than 9 million people live in counties where cases are rising and where the vaccination rates are lower than 40%.
"Many of these counties are also the same locations where the Delta variant represents the large majority of circulat- ing virus," she said.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, direc- tor of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Dis- eases, said the variant could bring about mini-surges in in- fections in those areas.
"I'm concerned as this vari- ant becomes more dominant, those select areas of the coun- try that have a very low level of vaccination, like 30% or so, you're going to start seeing
