WMU-Cooley Black Law Students Assoc. To Honor Senior Judge Perry A. Little
Deputies Help Deliver Baby At Fairgrounds

On Friday evening, two Hillsborough County deputies stepped into roles not consid- ered in the line of duty. They helped deliver a baby.
Deputy Henry Echenique and Deputy Roberto Ramirez were on patrol at the Florida State Fair-
grounds. At 4 p.m., the deputies heard a woman asking for help because her water had broken. The two veteran deputies went to assist Kesha Martin and her husband, Lavaron.

they helped the mother give birth to a baby girl. When EMS arrived, they transported Ms. Martin and her daughter, Lyric, to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. A total of 10 deputies assisted in the birth.
WMU-Cooley Law School’s Black Law Students Association (BLSA) will pres- ent, “A Night at the Oscars: A Red Carpet Affair” on Satur- day, Feb. 24, 2018 to celebrate the work of BLSA and honor Senior Judge Perry A. Lit- tle of the 13th Judicial Circuit.
The event will begin at 7 p. m. at The Event Factory, a banquet hall located at 7565 W. Hillsborough Ave.
The black-tie event will also include a cocktail hour. The dinner program is at 8 p. m. and dancing will follow.
Judge Little was ap- pointed to the Hillsborough County Court System in 1977 by Gov. Reubin Askew. He was the second African-Amer- ican appointed to the Hills- borough County Bench. He followed Judge George Edgecomb.

appointed him to the Circuit Court in 1993, where he served in the Juvenile and Circuit Civil Divisions until his retirement in January, 2007. Much of his Circuit ex- perience was dedicated to positively impacting the lives of juveniles and young adults.
