EA Sports Revealed Madden Ratings For This Year's Rookies
NBA To Offer Single-Game Pay-Per-View
Floyd Mayweather's Next Opponent May Confirm A Popular Theory About His Final Fight
On Monday, EA Sports re- vealed ratings for several top rookies in this year’s Madden video game, Buccaneer QB Jameis Winston earned an 81 overall rating with a 95 in throw power and 88 in short- range throw accuracy. He also received an 81 in agility, 75 in strength and 73 in speed.
Telecasts For $6.99
NBA fans who want to watch out-of-market games that are not on national television can now do so by the game.
The league announced Wednesday that, for the first time, fans can pay $6.99 to buy any NBA game next season.
Fans will be able to watch the game on television if they have a carrier that gets NBA League Pass -- DirecTV, Dish, AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, Time Warner and Cox, among them - - or on broadband for comput- ers, tablets and mobile devices. It is not clear which distribu- tors will participate in offering single games.
In the past, fans could only buy all out-of-market games for the season, but this year, the league is also offering a team package, where a fan who lives out of the primary market can get all the team's games for $119.99.
The price for the full League Pass -- which has been avail- able since 1994 -- will remain $199.99, but even NBA com- missioner Adam Silver ad- mitted in March at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Confer- ence that "most people don't want to consume that many games."
There are no immediate plans to sell pieces of games, like allow a fan to buy the last couple minutes of a game by clicking on a link within their Twitter or Facebook timeline, but that could be something the league will look at in the future.

Roger Goodell On Tom Brady Appeal: We Are Being Very Thorough
Twelve days after NFL com- missioner Roger Goodell told CNBC that a decision on New England Patriots quarter- back Tom Brady's Deflate- gate appeal was "coming soon," he said Tuesday there is no timeline for a ruling.
"We are obviously being very thorough and want to make sure we consider all aspects of his appeal," Goodell said at a fundraising luncheon for the Tri-County Patriots for Inde- pendent Living in Canons- burg, Pennsylvania. "We will make a decision as quickly as possible."
Goodell said of Brady's appeal, "There is no timeline. We want to make sure we have a fair and open process."

Floyd Mayweather wants to retire undefeated.
Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s
next opponent will be 31-year- old welterweight Andre Berto.
While the September 12 fight hasn't been confirmed by Mayweather's camp or a network, Mayweather has mentioned Berto's name in the past.
Berto also tweeted that he was excited to "be in the run- ning" to fight Mayweather.
The boxing world isn't ex- actly jumping for joy over this next fight. If the report is true, it may confirm a popular the- ory about how Mayweather wants to end his career — with an easy opponent, allowing him to retire undefeated.
Mayweather is 48-0 after a unanimous, 12-round victory over Manny Pacquiao. While Mayweather has sug-
gested his next fight may be his last, some people think he will go for two more easy fights to retire 50-0.
Mayweather's father and trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr., told David Mayo of MLive that Floyd "just wants to get a couple of easy fights." Mayweather Sr. said he told his son he should just retire if that's the case. He also said he thought judges and analysts would soon turn against his son's defensive, evasive fight- ing style.
No victory is ever guaran- teed, but Berto seems like a safe opponent for May- weather. Berto is 30-3 dur- ing his career, but is just 3-3 in his past six fights. In one fight Berto lost to Robert Guer- rero, whom Mayweather has beaten.
After an uncertain offsea- son packed with tension, hard feelings and distrust, the Vikings and Adrian Peter- son officially have renewed their vows.
The Vikings announced Tuesday that they and their star running back “mutually agreed” to restructure the final three years of Peterson’s contract. Exact terms were not disclosed, but the new deal re- portedly includes $20 million in guaranteed money for Pe- terson in 2015 and 2016 com- bined, something his old contract lacked.
The 30-year-old star run- ning back stated in late May that he was concerned about securing his future with the Vikings. After ending the month’s long standoff in early June by rejoining his team- mates for voluntary workouts, the Vikings and Peterson’s agent, Ben Dogra, began conversations about a new contract. Now Peterson has the security that he craved all along.

working together on this re- structured contract, which provides additional security for me but also allows oppor- tunities for me to further prove my value to the team and within the NFL,” Peterson said in a statement released by the team. “It was important for me to continue my career in Minnesota, and I cannot wait to get on the field in front of Vikings fans again.”
