Father Charged In Death Of Teenage Daughter
Police Search For Vehicle In Deadly Hit And Run

Detectives with the Tampa Police are asking for the pub- lic’s help to identify the driver involved in a fatal hit and run accident. The incident took place at the intersection of E. Hillsborough Avenue and N. 15th Street.
According to police, Ms. Theresa Williams, 53, was crossing the street shortly be- fore 11 p.m., when she was struck by a vehicle. She died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the accident.
HIT AND RUN VEHICLE
Police have obtained a photo- graph of the vehicle believed to have been involved in the deadly crash.
The vehicle is described as a small, dark-colored sedan. It was traveling westbound on Hillsborough when the crash occurred. It was last seen heading southbound on 15th Street.

The father of a teenager whose body was found in a nature preserve in July has been arrested. He is facing charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office website, 37-year-old Nahshon Shannon, of Riverview, is being held with- out bond at the jail.
Detectives launched a homicide investigation after a hiker found the body of a young girl near Balm Riverview Road and the Triple Creek Nature Preserve Road on July 12th.
The investigation that spanned nearly three months culminated with Shannon’s arrest.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner identified the body as that of 13-year-old Janessa Shannon, who had been reported missing nearly two weeks before. Her death was ruled a homicide.
In the missing person’s re- port Nahshon Shannon filed with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, he stated he had last seen his daughter on July 1st. When he

checked her room the follow- ing day, he discovered her missing.
Shannon told police the last time he saw the teenager she was wearing black paja- mas pants and a blue shirt. She had not taken her cell phone or any personal items at the time of her disappear- ance, police said.
After her body was found and identified, a spokesperson with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Shannon had initially been cooperative during the investigation. However, he hired an attorney

and terminated all communi- cations with the detectives in- vestigating the case.
Police said Shannon picked his daughter up from her mother’s home in Braden- ton on July 1st and took her to his Riverview home.
At some point, Shannon and his daughter are alleged to have become engaged in some type of argument that resulted in her death. Police have not released any addi- tional information about the argument and have not re- leased the cause of the teenager’s death.

Two Women Charged In Shoplifting Ring
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two women and charged them in connection with a series of shoplifting events that netted more than $10,000 in mer- chandise. They are still searching for the third sus- pect.
According to detectives,
Ms. Niashia McLowery, 22, of Tampa, and Ms. Ladaisha Watson, 25, of Tampa, have been arrested and charged.
Ms. McLowery is facing 2 counts of grand theft, and Ms. Watson is facing three counts of grand theft and vio- lation of probation. Detectives are still searching for the woman wearing the long, multicolored robe.
In the first incident, four Black women entered the Walmart, 1208 E. Brandon Blvd., selected merchandise, removed price tags, and fled the scene. The property taken was valued at $4,756.08. The offense took place around 11 p.m., on September 3rd.

fore 8 p.m., two Black women entered the Walmart, 4928 Highway 674, in Wimauma. The women loaded items into shopping carts and walked out of the store. The value of the property taken was $2,226.40.
Police said they were ob- served leaving in a gold col- ored, 4-door 2006 Hyundai.
The third theft took place on September 19th, at the same Walmart Store in Wimauma. Three Black women walked into the store, loaded three shopping carts with merchandise and left the store. The value of the prop-
erty taken was $3,486.50. time, the suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV
or minivan.
The company lost a total
of $10,469.07 in merchandise during the three incidences.
