President Donald Trump
tweeted that he instructed VP Mike Pence to leave if there was an national anthem protest.
Pence walked out of the game between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers Sunday, citing his displeasure with players kneeling during the national anthem at the event.
Pence issued a statement on his departure: “I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our Na- tional Anthem.
At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our na- tion with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us.
While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don’t think it’s too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem. I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem.”

The famed Las Vegas strip went dark late Sunday night to mark exactly one week since a gunman opened fire on a crowd of 22,000 people attending a country music festival.
Last Sunday’s mass shoot- ing left 59 people dead and more than 500 injured. Po- lice later found the suspect, 64-year-old Stephen Pad- dock, in his hotel room on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. He

Trump Puts Child Immigration
Hamilton creator Lin- Manuel Miranda has taken it upon himself to be a voice for Puerto Ricans still suffer- ing in the fallout from Hur- ricane Maria.
On Friday, Miranda re- leased the song “Almost Like Praying,” a star-studded charity single to fund disaster relief. But the second part of his approach has been vehe- mently criticizing President Donald Trump’s response to the Puerto Rican disaster — mostly on the president’s own favorite platform, Twit- ter.

Donald Trump told Con- gress on Sunday night that he wants a border wall and new limits on legal immigration in return for allowing people ille- gally brought into the United States as children to remain here.
However, once the demands were made, top Democrats say Trump has reneged on a deal he made with them last month.
Among the priorities listed in a letter Trump sent to congres- sional leaders: enough money to build a wall along the Mexican border; changes to deportation laws that would make it easier to send undocumented immi- grants, including unaccompa- nied children, back to their home countries; crackdowns on sanctuary cities; an end to “chain” migration, which makes it easier for immigrants to spon- sor extended family members; and creating a “merit”-based immigration system to cut

start commenting on the is- land’s plight, he mostly fo- cused on the island’s debt to Wall Street (which he later said could be wiped out) and firing back at Carmen Yulín Cruz, the mayor of Puerto Rican capital San Juan, for criticizing him.
Outgoing Republican Senator Calls White House ‘Adult Day Care Center’
Republican Senator Bob Corker and Pres. Trump exchanged attacks on Twit- ter.
Trump lashed out at Sen- ator Bob Corker, on Sun- day. The Tennessee Republican is critical to the White House on tax reform and the fate of the Iran nu- clear deal, saying on Twitter that the senator had decided not to run for re-election be- cause he “didn’t have the guts.”

‘begged’ me to endorse him for re-election in Tennessee,” Mr. Trump wrote. “I said ‘NO’ and he dropped out (said he could not win with- out my endorsement).” Mr. Trump also said that Mr.

Corker had asked to be sec- retary of state. “I said ‘NO THANKS,’” he wrote.
Mr. Corker shot back a barbed response. “It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.”
Corker questioned the president’s competence on security with Iran and North Korea, resulting in a heated Twitter clash between the two on Sunday.
