Trial Planned For Florida Congressional Districts
In July, the Florida Supreme Court ordered the Florida Legislature to re- draw the state’s 27 Con- gressional Districts. However, legislators were unable to reach an agree- ment, even after Gover- nor Rick Scott ordered them into a Special Session.
As a result, a Florida Judge Terry Lewis gave attorneys involved in the dispute until Monday to submit proposed maps. If no acceptable maps are submitted, a trial will be held later this month.
Legislators have dis- agreed over the redrawing of the map for the past 3 years.
The trial, which is sched- uled for September 24th, will determine which map will be adopted.
