GAUSE
MRS. NADA ANDRA HARRISON
On February 16, 2019, in Mulberry, FL, Mrs. Nada Andra Harrison, received her call home to continue her heavenly passions.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert; her parents, Nathan and Daisy Miles; and brother, David Mitchell.
She leaves to carry on her legacy: two loving sons, Der- rick L. Key of Ruskin, FL, and Kelvin M. Harrison of Mul- berry, FL.
Nada was born on January 2, 1949 in Moore Haven, Florida (Frierson Farm), the third of four children. She was educated at Booker T. Wash- ington School in Washington Park, where she was a scholar, graduated first in her class; athlete; and band member. Her mission was to spearhead regu- lar reunions to commemorate the lifelong impact of their school on the community. Nada’s post secondary training at Lincoln Business College prepared her for a career in both federal and local govern- ment service as well as bank- ing.
Nada had many passions in her life, including her church. Membership in Bethel AME Church in Moore Haven was the first step in Nada’s Chris- tian walk. She and her husband were faithful leaders of Re- Birth M. B. Church, Tampa, to- gether with their sons, before relocating to Mulberry. They connected with Mt. Zion A. M. E., where Nada was a former
choir member and Missionary President.
Her passion for family prompted genealogical research which created a continuous labor of love to uncover roots and extend branches. The result is an extended family that grows with each discovery.
Nada was a go-getter. She was the “go-to” advocate of en- vironmental safety that resulted in legal settlements, both finan- cial and regulatory. She was dubbed the “Go, Go, Girl” by her family. Say “Go” and she was off to family trips, an excursion to Ghana, West Africa, and other points unknown. Her love for travel, spirit of adventure, and appreciation for girl power helped her to establish “The Queens” in 2005, who come to- gether to enjoy an annual re- treat to celebrate communal joy.
Embracing her sons to share and cherish memories are: two grandchildren, Devon Key of Riverview, FL and Ariana Key of Riverview; one sister, Annie Ruth Neasman of Miami, FL; one brother, Nathan E. Miles of Mulberry, FL; three sisters-in- law, Lillie C. Mitchell of Beau- fort, SC, Lenora (Roland) Fisher of Maryland, Rose (James) Mor- ton of Tampa; one brother-in- law, Terry Harrison of Tampa, FL; special nieces, Edwina Are- nas (JC) of Ft. Meade, Mary- land, Lisa Arenas (Kareem) of Bouie, Maryland, Robin Harris of Tampa, FL, Beatrice Neas- man of Austell, GA; nephews, David McBride of Clewiston, FL and Barry Neasman of Austell, GA; goddaughter, Jamie Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; and a host of other special extended family members, friends and co- workers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11 A. M., at Mt. Zion AME Church, 117 Southwest 4th Street, Mulberry, Florida 33680. Viewing is Friday at the church, 5-7 P. M.
