Of Negro Women
To Meet
Last Thursday, an initia- tive on behalf of the down- town Tampa business community, arts district, and restaurants was launched.
“Fourth Friday” kicked off along Tampa’s Riverwalk with a party marking the debut of what organizers be- lieve will become a down- town tradition.
A total of 9 cultural ven- ues plan afternoon and evening events, more than 15 bars and restaurants are of- fering deals including dis- counts and extended happy hours, and Pirate Water taxi will provide free rides.
The event will be repeated on the fourth Friday of each month.
Karen Kress, who rep- resents one of the organizers, said there will be no outside vendors participating in this venture.
“All of the downtown ven- ues got together and ex- tended their hours of operation.
“Fourth Friday is only in- clusive of those businesses and venues in the downtown area. The goal of the event is to introduce people to all the features along the Riverwalk and other areas close by.”
The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) Tampa Metropolitan Section will meet on Saturday, April 2, 2016, 10 a. m. at the HOPE Center, 4902 N. 22nd St., Tampa (33610).
