First Annual Christmas Fundraiser Planned
HABSE To Host Student Forum On Saturday

On Saturday, December 9th, members of the commu- nity will attend a special event that is being presented for the first time. It will take place at the Sons Of Italy, 3315 W. Lemon Street, from 8 p.m. until 12 a.m.
The East Tampa Business & Civic Association is hosting its “First Annual Christmas Fundraiser.” The event will feature “KOLD,” the Master of Entertainment. The theme is “A Silver, Blue & White Af- fair.”
Ms. Dianne Hart, CEO of the East Tampa Business & Civic Association said, “ETBCA is having their 1st Annual Christmas Fundraiser to assist our sen- ior homeowners with repairs.

“The East Tampa Busi- ness & Civic Association has provided rehabilitation serv- ices to over 200 homeowners since 1999. We understand grant dollars are drying up which requires nonprofits to find other funding sources to assist our most vulnerable population.”

The Hillsborough Alliance of Black School Educators is connecting with the commu- nity. The organization is host- ing a Student Forum on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The event will be held from 9 a. m. to 12 noon at C. Leon King High School, 6815 N. 56th Street, Tampa.
The Motivational Guest Speaker will be Harlan T. Ware, most notably know as Gus Trent, the cowboy. He is the HCPS Logistics Opera- tions Manager and owner of Gus Trent Horse Enterprises, LLC.
The forum is open to all middle and high school stu- dents. The panel discussion will be on “Different Plans, Different Paths,” and will be a question and answer session with recent Hillsborough County Public School gradu- ates about their academic and career path. Career paths can include joining the workforce or the military, going to voca- tional/technical school, or enrolling in a 4-year univer-

Refreshment will be served and giveaways will in- clude computers and gift cards.
National Council Of Negro Women To Host ‘Harambee Luncheon’
The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) will host its Harambee Luncheon on Saturday, December 16, 2017. The 11 a. m. luncheon will be held at the Carroll- wood Country Club, 13903 Clubhouse Dr., Tampa.
The speaker for the luncheon will be Mrs. Joanna Tokley, former ed- ucator and President of the Tampa Urban League. Shawn Fogle will be the Master of Ceremonies.
NCNW President, Mrs. Rosa Cambridge invites the community to join them. Guests are encouraged to wear African attire or busi- ness attire.
