WILSON
MR. ALFONSO ESCALANTE
A Private Funeral Service will be held for Mr. Alfonso Escalante, who passed away on July 7, 2020.
Mr. Alfonso Escalante was born July 15, 1956 in Tampa, Florida to the late parentage of Tony Escalante and Joella Stewart Roberts. Alfonso was a loving car- ing person and the life of the party. As a young man he played baseball for the famous Belmont Heights Little League in East Tampa.
Mr. Alfonso Escalante at- tended the public schools of Hills- borough County. After graduating from Tampa Bay Technical High School in 1973, Alfonso enlisted in the United States Army, and within 6 months he received an Honorable Discharge.
His next adventure was a Car Salesman for Abraham Chevrolet in Tampa, Florida. Alfonso found his calling, he was known as one of the best Car Salesman in the Tampa Bay area for over 20 years. While selling cars, Alfonso’ss econd love was playing golf every week at Rogers Park, where he won many amateur competitions.
If you knew Alfonso well, he loved to tell stories and go fishing during his spare time. He was af- fectionately known as “Big Al” or “Superfly.” Mr. Alfonso Escalante loved his family, kids, friends, and especially his mom.
He truly loved his extended family, Jermaine Baskin and fam- ily from Vero Beach, Florida. He would visit them at least twice per month.
Alfonso leaves to cherish memories of him with: devoted friends, Priscilla Escalante and Gloria Stephens; children, Selena Escalante and John Paul; grand- son, Elijah Brown; sisters, Betty Deneal and Patricia Jaipersad (Gregory); brothers, Eddie Pass- more, Fred Escalante, Larry Es- calante, Frank Deneal (Shirley), Bruce
Roberts (Tasha) and Kevin Roberts (Yolanda); nephews and nieces, Shalonda Newkirk, Perry Deneal (Charmaine), Ashlie Hard- away (Michael, II), Alfonso Es- calante (Kelonda), Dean Matt Jaipersad, Jabari Passmore, Jay- Jay Escalante, Kaleb Roberts, host of cousins and a multitude of heartbroken friends.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day, July 17, 2020 at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, from 3 -8 p. m.

MR. GREGORY LOUIS PEOPLES
A Private Service will be held for Mr. Gregory Louis Peoples, who passed on June 29, 2020.
Gregory Louis Peoples was born on March 28, 1950 in Tampa, Florida, to the parentage of Ida Mae Mills and Jacob Shoats.
He was educated in Hillsbor- ough County School System and was a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1969. He was also a member of their basketball team.
Gregory enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a Flight Guard. After receiving a Hon- orable Discharge from the Navy, he returned home to Tampa and was an employee at Tampa General Hospital for several years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ida Mae Mills and Jacob Shoats; his oldest brother, Jacob Peoples; nephew, Roman Bradshaw, and second wife, Sarah Sue Mar- shall.
Mr. Peoples leaves to cherish memories of him with: a loving son, Craig L. Peoples; grandson, Dawn Peoples and his fiancée from Madrid, Spain; one very loving and devoted brother, Angelo Reno Peo- ples; close friend, Linda; one sister, Sharon Shorter (Willie); nieces, Monica, husband, Sam and their daughters; Jada Phan and Brea; nephews, Jacob Peoples, Jr. (Char- lene) and their son, Jacob Peoples, III; other nephews, Jason Peoples, Christopher Whitehead (Michelle), Marvin, Eric Williams, Jarvio Williams, Micheal Williams; a loving and devoted mother-in-law, Isabel Morsley (grandmother of Craig and Dawn Peoples); best friend and first wife, Karen Peoples; other children in his life, Lee Davis, Jr., Le’Shondra Davis, Le’Qundra Davis, Tracy, hus- band, Earnest, Horace McDonald, Mark Farris (Evelyn), Marie Adams (Charlie); best friends, Ronnie Sim- mons, Claudia Jones, Rudolph McBride, Miriam Gilbert, Stephanie Gail, Elizabeth, Betty, Paulette, Karol and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.

MR. CARLOS THOMAS
A Private Memorial Service will be held for Mr. Carlos Thomas, who passed away on July 4, 2020.
Brother Carlos Thomas transi- tioned home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2020 at Tampa General Hospital.
He was the sixth child, born August 2, 1955, to the union of the late Archie and Lovie Lane Thomas.
He was preceded in death by: his sister, Alma Thomas, sister and second mother, Sarah Hooks; and brothers, Archie, Jr., Eddie Lee and Leroy.
Carlos knew the Lord from an early age, growing up at the family church, Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church in Clearwater, Florida. He was a student and graduate of the Pinel- las County Public School System. After graduation he met and mar- ried Wanda Renee Mathis and to this union was born Christopher and Tameka. He was an ardent lover of the Lord and his family.
His passion for cooking ele- vated him to the position of head chef for several years at Bombay Bicycle Club Restaurant. In 2011, he made his home with the Noah Community Outreach, Inc., Tony Parker Executive Director, in Tampa, Florida, which served as the catalyst to his way back to the Lord. He quickly became an asset to the organization and was given the task of being the House Man- ager at his residence for men who were returning to society after long term incarceration.
Shortly thereafter, he made St. John Cathedral his spiritual home under the leadership of Bishop Eddie Newkirk, where he served on the Usher and Transportation Min- istries until his transition.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with: a son, Christopher Thomas; daughter, Tameka (Terry) Denmark; 3 grand- children, Terry, Jr., Simone and A’sya; along with a host of sorrow- ing nieces, nephews, cousins, Noah and St. John friends and family.

MR. JOHNNY LEE KING
Mr. Johnny Lee King passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. “Grip,” as his family called him, was born on October 31, 1948, in Donovan, GA.
He lived in and attended schools in Hillsborough County.
He was preceded to death by: his father, the late Lee Roger King, and sister, Eddie Mae King.
He is survived by: his mother, Eunice Owen King, brothers, Roger, Andrew, Alfonso, and Izell and wife, Medaline King; sisters, Darlene and husband, Willie Daniels, of Marianna, FL, Delorise and husband, Wallace Hargrove, Jeanette and husband, Isaac Nash, and Eyvonne King; nephew, Isaac Nash, IV, and wife, Deteshia. Also, Roger King, Sr., and wife, Janice, Willie Daniels, Jr., and wife, Jennifer, of Marianna, FL; niece, LaShonda King, and hus- band, Manuel Parilla, Maria and Patrick Shaw, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
He was a kind and loving per- son. He will be missed.

MR. CLARENCE STEPHENSON (‘PETEY’)
Mr. Clarence Stephenson, “Petey,” passed on June 30, 2020, after a brief illness.
He was a resident of Tampa, Florida. He was born July 12, 1949 to the parents of Portia Norton and Oliver Stephenson, Jr. He attended Middleton Senior High School.
Clarence Stephenson served in the United States Marines and also service in the Viet Nam War. He re- tired from Meadow Burke. Clarence enjoyed fishing, and reading his Bible. He was ordained minister in Bronx, NY.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Portia Norton and fa- ther, Oliver S. Stephenson, Sr. and Geneva Stephenson (step-mother).
He is survived by: his children, Clarence Stephenson, Jr. (Brenda), St. John USVI, daugh- ters, Tara Stephenson, (Dovay), Christina Stephenson, Regina Cor- chado-Brown (Nelson); sisters, Doria Moore, Gail Stephenson, Twila Hart; brothers, Ricky Stephenson (Terri), Oliver Stephenson (Millicent), Darnell Stephenson (Tanya), Michael Stephenson (Tiffany); grandchil- dren, Deniqua, Jovanie, Kemica, Caliyah, Claesa Tyah and Ariana; and one great- granddaughter, Kai- ley; aunt, Rosebud Stephenson; uncle, Dr. Benjamin F. Stephen- son; many nieces and nephews and cousins, dedicated cousins, Natalie M. Seigler, Jackie Mickens (Sam), Deborah Norton and a host of other relatives and friends.
