Area High Schools Knocked Out Of State Semi-Final Games
Homecoming At Bethune- Cookman University
The Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University were not able to hold onto a late rally to defeat South Carolina State University on Homecoming Day, October 19, 2019. The Wildcats lost the game 27-19, after winning the last 7 consecutive Homecoming games. (Photos by Julia Jackson)
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., celebrated 70 years on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University. Among the ladies on campus for the celebration were: Margaret Woody, Tiki Davis, Lynetta Waldon and Mikki Wheeler.

Several schools in the area participated in the High School Football State Semi- Final Football games last Fri- day night. However, the schools in all classifications were knocked out of advanc- ing any further.
In Class 2A, Hialeah Champagnat Catholic de- feated Seffner Christian, 30- 21.
In Class 3A, Hollywod Chaminade-Madonna de- feated Clearwater Central Catholic, 28-7.
Miami Booker T. Wash- ington squeezed by Lake- wood in a close Class 4A matchup, 9-7.
In Class 5A, Jesuit was no
match for Miami Northwest- ern that won the game by doubling Jesuit’s score, 42- 21.
In Class 6A, Gaither High was no match for Pensacola Escambia, losing 45-21.
In Class 7A, Armwood tried to keep it close, but fell short, losing to Orlando Edgewater, 38-27, at home.
In Class 8A, Steinbrenner lost to Apopka, 41-15.
Classes 1A, 2A and 3A will be played December 5-7, at Gene Cox Stadium in Talla- hassee.
Classes, 4A through 8A, will be playing for champi- onships, Dec. 11-14, at Day- tona Stadium.
