DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
MS. LYDIA ‘RED’ PEARL MACKEY
On Friday, October 14, 2016, Ms. Lydia “Red” Pearl Mackey, 57, peacefully passed away in her sleep at home, from her battle with can- cer. Lydia was born in St. Pe- tersburg, Florida to Virginia Evans and Eugene Mackey. She was the third child of six siblings.
She’s preceded in death by: husband, Dooney Pendleton; sister, Sabrina Prince Valdez; brother, James Daniel Prince.
Lydia is survived by: mother, Virginia Whitehead; father, Charles Whitehead; daughter, Holly Heyward; sis- ter, Pastor Barbara Neal (Kathartis); brothers, Derek James Mackey, and John Michael Prince; grandchil- dren, Charles, Curtis, Chris, Tia, and Ty-Lydia Heyward; she also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, fam- ily and friends; special friends, Brenda Shaw, Trina Richardson, Mike and his spouse.
A Celebration of Life Serv- ice will be held at New Rising Star MB Church, 1509 E. North Bay St., Tampa, 33610 on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 11 a. m.

MR. CHARLES L. REED
Mr. Charles L. Reed of Tampa passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016. Funeral serv- ices will be conducted Satur- day, October 22, at 11 a. m. at Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Apostle Mark Jones, Pastor, with Elder Elect LaMark Lark, officiating. In- terment will be held Monday, October 24, at 11 a. m. at The Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mr. Charles L. Reed was born in Savannah, Georgia to Mr. Willie C. Reed and Clara Mae Toomer. He was educated in the Public Schools of Hills- borough County and was a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served a tour in Okinawa, Japan.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, grandparents and his brother, Develle Reed. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his children, Nicole Reed-Johnson and husband, Anthony Johnson, Chelus Reed and wife, Shaquwna Reed, Tessilyn Reed and Nathaniel Reed; ten grandchil- dren; three great grandchil- dren; mother, Juanita Lark; former wife, Wanda Johnson; brother, Willie J. Thomas; sis- ter-in-law, Ola Mae Reed of Midway, AL; a loving niece, Mary Thomas and husband, Adrian Thomas of Savannah, GA and devoted cousin, Mary Robinson and husband, Willie J. Robinson of Tampa; devoted friend, Larry Curtis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other sorrowing relatives and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, October 21, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, and the family will receive friendsfrom6to7p.m.atthe Chapel. Arrangements en- trusted to RAY WILLIAMS FU- NERAL HOME, Rhodes & Northern, Owners.

MOTHER THELMA SWAIN DIX
Mother Thelma Swain Dix graciously accepted her Master’s call and departed on Thursday, October 13, 2016. A homegoing celebration service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, 11 a.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Seffner, 6720 County Road 579, Seffner, FL 33584, Reverend Nathaniel Love, officiating, Eulogist. Inter- ment will follow at Sunset Me- morial Garden Cemetery.
Thelma is reunited in heaven with: her parents, George and Dorothy Lemons; her husband, Raymond Dix; five younger sib- lings, Alfreddie, Delores, Wal- ter, Shellie and Evelyn; and a great-great-grandchild.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by: her sons, Ernest “Gene” Parker, Daniel “Jackie” Swain (Laura), Mack Swain (Doris) and Ronald “Ron- nie” Swain; her grandchildren, Toy Smith, Karlish Telfair, LaRhonda Parker, Daniel Swain, Michael “Shay” Swain, Jermaine Swain, La Kedra Swain, Veronique Swain , Siberia (David) Swain-Irvin, Yolanda (Terry) Mutch, Ronkel (An- thony) Williams, Ronnell Swain and Kellen Swain; 22 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; sister, Rhundine “Rufus” McGhee; also left to cherish memories of her are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving church family, host of other relatives and devoted friends, including Mamie Jack- son and family, Melvin and Del- phine Collins, Helen Thomas and family, Delories West Swain and family, Mungin family, the Williams family and the staff at Fairway Oaks Nursing Center.
Thelma S. Dix was born in Tampa, on November 22, 1924 to the union of George and Dorothy Lemons. She was the first born of 7 children. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Raymond Dix until his death. Thelma was a member of New Salem Primi- tive Baptist Church for many years. Later in life, she contin- ued to serve her Father at First Missionary Baptist Church of Seffner, initially serving under Rev. W. L. Cooper and continued to serve faithfully under the leadership of Rev. Nathaniel Love. She was a long standing member of the Senior Mission Board, Family Choir and Moth- ers’ Board until her health began to fail. Thelma was a devoted employee of Tampa General Hospital for over 20 years where she retired in 1987.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day, October 21, 2016, at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, from 5 – 8 p. m. with the family present from 5 – 6 p. m. in the chapel. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approximately 10:45 a. m. for the service.

MOTHER ARETHA MOTEN KELLY
Home-going celebration for Mother Aretha Moten Kelly, who went home to her Heav- enly Father on Sunday, October 9, 2016, will be held on Satur- day, October 22, 2016 at 2 p. m. at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, 10930 U. S. Highway 301 North, Thono- tosassa, Florida with the Senior Pastor, Rev. James A. Wolfe, of- ficiating. Interment will fol- low in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mother Kelly was preceded in death by: her parents, Sylvester Moten, Sr. and Salle Mae Moten; son, Felix Lemor- ris Kelly; father, Sylvester Moten, Sr.; mother, Sallie Mae Moten; two brothers, Sylvester Moten, Jr., and Charles Moten; two sisters, Mary Alice Moten Davis and Inez Moten.
She leaves to cherish fond memories of her with: her hus- band of 52 years, Felix Kelly; two sons, Darryl and Timothy Kelly; two daughters, Abigail Kelly and Juanita (Steve) Kelly; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchil- dren; two brothers, James (Cora) Moten and Rufus (Sylvia) Moten; four sisters, Sally (James) Crawford, Vera (Harry) Goldwire, Vivian Hunt and Elizabeth Maxwell; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two brothers-in-law, John (Vera) Kelly and Leroy (Betty) Kelly; six sisters-in-law, Willie M. Kelly, Ernestine Kelly, Hat- tie Grier, Ollie Kelly, Mollie Ashley and Lena (Willie) Jones; god daughters, Tamarra Jor- dan and Mary Lillie; a host of other relatives and devoted friends including Retha Sin- gleton-Hobbs and Willie J. Kelly, Jr.
Aretha Moten Kelly was born on August 28, 1944 in Quincy, Florida to the parentage of Sylvester Moten, Sr. and Sallie Mae Moten. She attended schools in Gadsden County.
Mother Kelly accepted Christ at an early age at Freewill Prim- itive Baptist Church. She moved to Tampa in 1964 with her husband of 52 years, Felix and son, Felix Lemorris. She was employed as a production worker at National Seafood and Singleton Seafood, where she retired in the early 1990s. Mother Kelly united with Northside Missionary Baptist Church in 1964, where she served on the Mission Board and in the Choir. She later united with Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in the late 1990s where she served faithfully until her demise.
There will be a viewing on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 5 – 7 p. m. with the family pres- ent at Northside Missionary Baptist Church, 5706 N. 40th Street, Tampa. Friends are asked to assemble at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church on Saturday at approx- imately 1:45 p. m. for the serv- ice.
