Bucs Offense Vs Eagles Defense In Tampa Sunday
Colin Kaepernick Debuts ‘I’m
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers opened its season with an exciting divisional win against the New Orleans Saints. Though, it didn’t have to be as interesting as the game ultimately turned out.
The Buccaneers took a 48- 24 lead early in the fourth quarter after Ryan Fitz- patrick’s 36-yard touch- down pass to DeSean Jackson. However, Drew Brees and the Saints contin- ued to battle.
New Orleans scored and converted two-point conver- sions on each of its next two drives to trim the deficit to 48-40 before a Fitzpatrick scramble on third down effec-

in the first of three games without Jameis Winston. The task will get even tougher during Sunday’s tilt with the Philadelphia Eagles, 1-0. The

Eagles defense is one of the best in the league and quar- terback Nick Foles is on a role coming off a MVP per- formance in the Super Bowl. The game start at 1 p.m. on FOX.
It has been a joyous month for Colin Kaepernick since signing an endorsement deal with Nike. To add onto his suc- cess, the former NFL star de- buted the release of “I’m With Kap” jerseys that’ll benefit the Know Your Rights Camp.
The 30-year-old athlete/humanitarian added that the entire profit from the sale will be allocated to the aforementioned organization. As of press time, the jerseys sold out within its first day of release, a feat Kaepernick celebrated on Instagram. “Thank you to each and every one of you that have supported this journey,” he wrote.
Since 2016, the previous San Francisco 49er remained steadfast in his fight against social and racial injustice. He’s remained a free agent since

that time. With the beginning of the NFL season earlier this month, other players have continued Kapernick’s ges- ture of kneeling during the na- tional anthem, a moment that he responded to on Instagram.
“They have not backed down, even when attacked and intimidated,” he said. “Their courage will move the world forward!”

On Monday, several NFL players from the New Orleans Saints showed up at a rally in Kenner to protest the mayor’s city-wide ban on purchasing Nike products for rec facilities.
Saints players Cam Jor- dan, Craig Robertson, Ter- ron Armstead and Chris Banjo, lent their support, along with elected officials at the “Unity in Community” rally at Susan Park Playground Monday to denounce the mayor’s order to ban Nike products.
The players joined the peaceful protest after the white mayor Ben Zahn issued a memo ordering the city’s rec department and booster clubs to stop buying Nike apparel, shoes or equipment.
“We needed to show up to understand how the people feel about this [decision],” said Jordan. The defensive end, also often plays pick up sports at the facilities.
“I wanted to be amongst the people,” said Armstead, a Saints offensive tackle who lives in Kenner.
Armstead said he was in “disbelief” when he first saw the in-house memo.
Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch on Monday continued his prac- tice of sitting down during the national anthem.
Then Lynch scored a touch down in the season opener against the Los Ange- les Rams.
Former San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players have been taking a knee during the anthem in protest of police misconduct and treatment of people of color in America. Lynch, meantime, spent all of last season sitting down during the traditional singing of “The Star-Spangled Ban- ner” but he has never ex- plained why.
Regardless of the in- tended message, Marshawn Lynch’s demonstration marks the third time NFL players have used their
places on the field to make a statement in the brand new football season.
Miami Dolphins wide re- ceivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson took a knee during the national anthem on Sunday and defensive end Robert Quinn raised a fist just before their season opener with the Tennessee Titans. Stills did the same last season too and did say during an interview that we would stop if Kaepernick and Eric Reid, both of whom have grievances with the NFL, were to be signed to teams.
Taking a knee has been front and center nationwide in recent weeks since Nike launched a campaign mark- ing the 30th anniversary of its “Just Do It” slogan and dubbed Kaepernick as the face of it.
Buccaneers Lose Vernon Hargreaves For The Season
On Tuesday night, it was reported that Tampa Bay Buccaneers DB Vernon Hargreaves would be out for the year.
Hargreaves is report- edly dealing with a shoulder issue that will cost him the rest of the 2018 campaign.
Hargreaves was a first- round pick by the Bucs back in 2016, and in two seasons (and one game) has put up 111 tackles, one interception and two forced fumbles.
Now, he’s out for the year, and the Buccaneers’

secondary will certainly miss him.
