Hip Hop Album Sales:
Mac Miller Left Behind Sizable Fortune
MAC MILLER
Mac Mill reportedly died with a sizable amount of money. According to Celebrity net Worth, Miller left behind a fortune worth around $9 million.
The Pittsburgh-bred artist made history in 2011 when he released his debut album Blue Slide Park. It marked the first independently-dis- tributed debut to nab the cov- eted No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 since 1995 when Tha Dogg Pound re- leased Dogg Food.
Miller’s label at the time — Rostrum Records — had a deal in place with iTunes that required them to pay the streaming platform just 25 percent of the album’s earn- ings and they got to split the rest.
After he parted ways with the imprint, Miller signed a deal with Warner Bros. for a reported $10 million.
The 26-year-old crafted five studio albums — including last month’s Swim- ming —- which all debuted in the Top 5.

     Eminem’s ‘Kamikaze’
Soars To No. 1
Eminem’s “Kamikaze” has hit the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 for the week ending September 6. Every album he’s released since 2000 has debuted at the top, including 2017’s “Revival.”
Subsequently, Slim Shady is one of just two rap- pers to have nine consecutive No. 1 debuts.
JAY-Z is the only other MC to have accomplished this feat with 14 back-to-back No. 1 debuts.
Elsewhere on the chart,
Travis Scott’s Astroworld is holding steady at No. 2, while Nicki Minaj’s Queen, moves from No. 5 to No. 7.
Drake’s Scorpion also maintains its No. 3 position and Blac Youngsta’s *F*ck Everybody 2 enters in the Top 100.
“Kamikaze” divebombs Right Into No. 1.

with zero warning, much to the delight of his fans. The 13-track album found Shady spewing venom at his critics and blasting rap- pers like Lil Pump, Ma- chine Gun Kelly and Joe Budden.
All that energy has paid off and Em’s ninth studio album sits in the Billboard 200’s coveted spot with 433,575 total album equivalent units (251,692 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 225,534,818).
In the wee hours last Sat- urday, rumors swirled that Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans got into a squabble during a party hosted by Diddy in the Hamptons. There were no videos of the incident, nor were there any official re- ports about what started the issue, and that’s likely because the fight didn’t really happen.
Blige dispelled the ru- mors Monday while being in-
terviewed on the red carpet during the Dennis Basso Show at New York Fashion Week.
“Of course, that was made up. I was shooting a movie in Louisiana ... I just got here today,” she told Page Six.
Additionally, a represen- tative for Evans said that the story was completely false.
“I have no idea how this rumor started,” they said. “Puffy didn’t even have a party.”

Animated Series
 Set For Disney HD
September 23rd
The king of Wakanda is set to star in an animated se- ries on Disney XD. While technically the fifth season of Disney’s Avengers Assem- ble series, the latest iteration of the series gets a Black Panther slant along with a new title – Marvel’s Avengers: Black Pan- ther’s Quest.
While Disney XD’s Marvel shows often lean more to- ward comedy than the comics or even the film ver- sions, Black Panther’s se- rious personality, which comes with the burden of being king, will be kept in- tact. The series looks uses el- ements from the hit film, including the depiction of the Dora Milaje, Shuri’s tech- nological expertise, and a hip-hop-influenced sound- track.
The animated series’ lead- ing voice actors are James Mathis III (T’Challa) and
BLACK PANTHER
Daisy Lightfoot (Shuri).
Black Panther Quest will see the return of previously seen allies, along with new threats as T’Challa and Shuri balance their royal responsibilities in Wakanda with the global pro- tection that defines their po- sition as Avengers. Marvel’s Avengers: Black Pan- ther’s Quest will premiere on Disney XD on September 23at9p.m.
Jay Z and Kanye West have been embroiled in a long-standing cold war for nearly two years. But last Sat- urday, ‘Ye tweeted that a se- quel to the Hip Hop super duo’s 2011 Watch The Throne album is on its way. “Throne2 coming soon,” he wrote.
However, the fact ‘Ye doesn’t mention Hov’s name is suspect. The bad blood be- tween the two started to boil in 2016 when Kanye insinu- ated Jay was a bad friend during a concert in Seattle.
A month later, he called out Jay and his wife, Bey- once, mid-rant at a Sacra- mento show.
From there, Hov went on to diss Kanye multiple times on last year’s 4:44.
In an interview with Rap Radar last August, Hov re- vealed the reason behind his rift with Kanye but still re- ferred to him as his “little brother.”
“What really hurt me is you can’t bring my kids and my wife into it,” he said. “Kanye’s my little brother. He’s talked about me a hun- dred times. He made a song called ‘Big Brother.’ We’ve gotten past bigger issues, but you brought my family into it. Now, that’s a problem with me. That’s a real, real prob- lem.
