Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’
Becomes Fastest Song To
Be Certified Diamond
After being accused of stealing the melody, lyrics and chords to her hit single “Truth Hurts,” Lizzo is clap- ping back with legal fire- power of her own.
According to court docu- ments obtained by The Blast, the 31-year-old has sued songwriters Yves Rothman and brothers Jeremiah and Justin Raisen. The latter took to Instagram last week claiming to have been in- volved in the composition of “Truth Hurts” and not being given the proper credit.
The suit reads, “Lizzo, ac- cordingly, seeks a judicial

declaration that the individ- ual defendants Justin and Jeremiah Raisen and
Justin ‘Yves’ Rothman
did not co-author ‘Truth Hurts,’ and have no right to co-own that work or to share in its profits.”
On top of the suit, the De- troit native also turned to so- cial media to tell her side of the story.
“The men who now claim a piece of Truth Hurts did not help me write any part of the song. They had nothing todowiththelineorhowI chose to sing it,” read the In- stagram post. “There was no one in the room when I wrote Truth Hurts, except me, Ricky Reed, and my tears.”
Lil Nas X has had an ab- solutely breakthrough year with his single ‘Old Town Road’ which continues to shat- ter records.
The song became the longest running number 1 sin- gle on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July when it topped the chart for 19 weeks. ‘Old Town Road’ has been now cer- tified Diamond by the RIAA for moving more than 10 mil- lion copies (both sales and streaming units), Columbia Records announced.
With this, the Billy Ray Cyrus-featured song (which was written by Jozzy) is now the fastest in history to reach

this milestone. It is also the first song released in 2019 to be certified Diamond.

‘Black And Blue’ Comes In Fifth Place At Box Office
Sony and Screen Gems’ Black & Blue opened with a halfway decent $8.3 million debut weekend. Deon Tay- lor’s action thriller, starring Naomi Harris as a rookie cop who witnesses her fellow officers doing a very bad thing. The film received rave reviews from the audience for being very intense. An $8.3 million opening weekend is not a barnburner, but this is a $12 million thriller that will
‘BLACK AND BLUE'
hopefully leg out like Tay- lion from a $10.8 million lor’s The Intruder ($35 mil- debut in May).
YG still feels a way about Donald Trump and anyone who doesn’t hate him.
The Compton rapper was performing his controversial song ‘F*ck Donald Trump’ during his set at the Mala Luna festival in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday night when he spotted a fan who wasn’t singing along the hook.
Seeing him, YG invited the man on stage and addressed him in front of the crowd. “I spotted you in the crowd, I asked if you f**k with Donald Trump. You said, ‘You don’t know.’ So since you don’t know, I need you to make up your mind tonight,” he said, putting the young guy in a fix. He then asked the fan to shout his name followed by “F*ck Donald Trump” which he

refused.
At that point, YG asked for
him to be removed from the stage immediately. “Get his a** outta here! He a Donald Trump supporter. Get his a**outta here!”

Lizzo Fires Back With ‘Truth Hurts’ Lawsuit Of Her Own
Have you ever wanted to become a Millionaire - well entertainment mogul Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is preparing to give up his se- crets.
50 is releasing a new book called Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter that promises to give burgeoning entrepre- neurs all the tools necessary to take your finances to the next level.
Here's how the book is de- scribed:
In his early twenties Cur- tis Jackson, known as 50 Cent rose to the heights of fame and power in the cut- throat music business. A decade ago the multi-plat- inum selling rap artist de- cided to pivot. His ability to
50 CENT
adapt to change was demon- strated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, grip- ping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's fam- ily. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a
four-year, $150 million con- tract with the Starz net- work—the most lucrative deal in premium cable his- tory.
Now, in his most personal book, Jackson shakes up the self-help category with his unique, cutting-edge les- sons and hard-earned advice on embracing change. Where The 50th Law tells readers "fear nothing and you shall succeed," Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter builds on this message, combining it with Jackson's street smarts and hard-learned cor- porate savvy to help readers successfully achieve their own comeback—and to learn to flow with the changes that disrupt their own lives.
