Michael Jackson's Streams Drop After 'Finding Neverland'
Netflix And Spike Lee Unveil ‘She’s Gotta Have It’ Season 2
Michael Jackson's sales, streaming numbers, and radio airplay have all dipped in the wake of the two-part docu- mentary Leaving Neverland.
The four-hour HBO doc— which shares allegations of two men who claim Jackson sex- ually assaulted them in their childhood—has many people reconsidering the legacy of the King of Pop.
According to Billboard, Jackson's combined album and song sales dropped by 5 percent after the Neverland premiere. His album sales alone dropped by 39 percent. Jackson's on-demand streams fell from 19.7 million to 18.7 million. This article is a joke. Michael Jackson's estate owns the Beatles, Be-

Going after the King of Music is like going after music.
His biggest hit came in radio airplay, where some DJs have committed to not playing Jackson's music. In addition to individual programmers making the decision to play less of Jackson's music, at least one broadcast company has committed to pulling Jackson's work. Three sta- tions in Canada owned by Co- geco Media have removed his music from their playlists, ac- cording to Billboard. While no major radio groups would go on record with the magazine to say that they are moving away from MJ, his radio airplay fell by 13 percent in the days im- mediately following Never- land airing.
Spike Lee’s Netflix adaption of his career-launching classic She’s Gotta Have It is back for another season — and it appears this time around, Nola Darling and company will be expanding the show’s invisible border be- yond Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
“I’m thrilled for you to get to know Nola Darling all over again,” Nola actress DeWanda Wise in a statement to Essence. “Spike, Tonya [Lewis Lee], our writers, cast, and crew trav- eled near and far to bring you something very special.”
This season, Darling strug- gles with newfound success and ultimately has to decide if she will remain true to her self and her art, or give in to corporate pressures — a journey that helps transform the lives of those in her circle.

comes on the heels of Lee’s Oscar win for his film BlacK- kKlansman — the first award he’s won since launching his ca- reer with She’s Gotta Have It in 1986, which starred Tracy Camilla Johns as the OG Nola Darling.
She’s Gotta Have It returns to Netflix on May 24.
'Captain Marvel' Trolled The Trolls With A $455M Global Launch
Kimora Lee Simmons To Relaunch Baby Phat
At this point, the notion of a new Marvel Cinematic Uni- verse movie opening with a boffo Fri-Sun debut is barely news anymore, as it's now akin to a new Tyler Perry-as- Madea movie opening with $25 million. Still, even by Mar- vel's standards, Captain Mar- vel flew higher, further and faster than its relative compe- tition. The Brie Larson/Samuel L. Jack- son/Reggie the Cat sci-fi adventure opened with $153m in North America this week- end, which is the second- biggest solo superhero non-sequel launch behind Black Panther ($202m in 2018). It's the third-biggest March opening of all time,

About 20 years after its in- ception, the women's urban- wear brand is set to relaunch in the upcoming months. Baby Phat developer Kimora Lee Simmons Leissner an- nounced the news Friday, re- vealing she had personally purchased the brand from an undisclosed company.
"We had to hunt around for it," she told WWD. "[...] It's per- fect timing for this. Over the past several years, we realized the brand resonates with people and lives deep in their souls."
Baby Phat, along with the Phat Fashions companies, was sold to Kellwood Apparel in 2004. A couple of years later, Leissner took on the role of brand president, and held that position until 2010.
"It's over. It's absolutely over. It was very abrupt and sudden. I was shocked," she told the Daily News in 2010. "It's very, very

sad for me. It was totally unex- pected."
Leissner told WWD that the Baby Phat relaunch is scheduled for spring, and that it will deliver "mainstream sports- wear" pieces for millennials. She said the inaugural collec- tion will take cues from her per- sonal archives, resulting in a mix of retro and modern ele- ments.
sans inflation, behind Batman v Superman ($166m in 2016) and Beauty and the Beast ($174m in 2017).
It's the fourth-biggest non-
sequel launch behind Beauty and the Beast, Black Panther and (if it counts as a non-se- quel) The Avengers ($207 mil- lion in 2012).
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Mall Appearance Erupts Into Unbridled Chaos
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was supposed to be at the Queens Center Mall in New York City on Friday (March 8), but before he ar- rived all hell broke loose. A- Boogie was scheduled for a wristband-only event at the Puma store at 5:30 p.m. local time.
However, authorities told CBS New York more people showed up to the event than the space could accommodate, which led to pushing and fighting. In video footage of

the melee, several people
throw numerous punches and witness Maria Moncada said, “They grabbed the chairs and broke it on his head, the poor guy was bleeding. It was bad.”
The chaos erupted around 2 p.m. local time as hundreds of teens were waiting to catch a glimpse of the Bronx-bred rapper. Police haven’t figured out why the fights broke out. They were called to the scene when far more people showed up than mall security guards were expecting.
